  • Publication number: 20140215900
Abstract: A bait house for bringing yellow jackets into proximity to a pesticide which is brought back to the nest. The bait house includes a pair of opposing side panels. The bait house also includes an entrance formed in at least one of the side panels. The entrance is configured to allow a yellow jacket to enter the bait house and allow a yellow jacket to exit the bait house. The bait house further includes an integrally molded bait receptacle attached to the side panels by fold lines. The side panels pivot along the fold lines to engage each other and the central tray form an enclosed volume.

  • Publication number: 20070149710
Abstract: The present invention yields a coagent-mediated, grafted copolymer prepared from a free radical-mediated reaction of a mixture containing or made from (a) a first free-radical reactive organic polymer, (b) a second free-radical reactive organic polymer, and (c) a coagent selected from the group consisting of allyl, vinyl, and acrylate coagents, wherein the first and second organic polymers are chemically dissimilar polymers as determined by at least one physical property yet the organic polymers have similar reactivity in radical-mediated additions to the coagent.

  • Publication number: 20070049695
Abstract: Preparation of butyl rubber based graft co-polymers from halobutyl elastomers using phase transfer catalysts in the presence of a solution of an alkali metal salt of an oxygen or sulfur nucleophile that is bound to a polymeric substrate. Graft co-polymers can be produced of a butyl polymer (isobutene-coisoprene) and polymeric substrates such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polybutadiene, polysilanes, polysiloxanes, polyethylene glycol, polyethylene oxide, polyphosphazenes, polyferrocenes or their hybrids.

  • Publication number: 20060116480
Abstract: A process for preparing a functionalised polyolefin is described. The process comprises the step of reacting: (i) a polyolefin, (ii) a compound containing a functional group, and (iii) a coagent compound having Formula I: Xn—Y-Zm??(I) wherein: Y is a core moiety; Z is a moiety containing a carbon-carbon double bond or a carbon-carbon triple bond; X is a moiety different than Z and the bond between X and Y may be a single bond or a double bond; n is a whole number greater than or equal to 0; m is a whole number greater than or equal to 2; and m+n equals a number up to the valence of Y; wherein: (a) when m is 2 and n is 0, the process comprises initially reacting the polyolefin and the coagent to form a product that is then reacted with the compound containing the functional group, and (b) the compound containing a functional group is substantially inert in free radical-mediated polymerization reactions and in free radical-mediated grafting reactions.

  • Publication number: 20050245649
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for preparing a filled halobutyl elastomer, which includes mixing a halobutyl elastomer with at least one mineral filler and at least one phosphine modifier and optionally curing the filled elastomer with sulfur or other curative systems. Filled halobutyl elastomers prepared according to the present invention possess improved levels of filler dispersion which results in a reduction in the hardness of the compound and an increased tensile strength.
