  • Publication number: 20230283398
Abstract: A method for multiplexing optical signals for transmission over a communication link includes receiving a set of input optical signals. Each input optical signal has an optical intensity at a given time in one of at least two amplitude states. The method further includes selectively adjusting the optical intensity of the input optical signals so that each input optical signal has a respective specific optical intensity for each of the at least two amplitude states. The respective specific optical intensity of each input optical signal in the at least two amplitude states differs such that the respective specific optical intensity of each input optical signal in the at least two amplitude states has a magnitude in which any combination of the input optical signals at any given time sums to a different combined magnitude. The input optical signals are combined to form a combined beam for transmission.

  • Patent number: 11614632
Abstract: In various embodiments, optical networking devices and systems are provided. One such optical networking device includes a housing, a beam splitter assembly, and a polarizer assembly. The housing includes a first passage that extends between a first opening and a second opening which are aligned with one another along a first axis, and a second passage that extends between the first passage and a third opening. The third opening is aligned with and communicatively coupled to the first passage along a second axis that is transverse to the first axis. The beam splitter assembly is positioned in the first section of the housing, and includes a first shell, a beam splitter platform, and a beam splitter. The polarizer assembly is positioned in the second section of the housing, and includes a second shell, a polarizer platform, and a polarizer.

  • Publication number: 20230036440
Abstract: Selectively configurable photonic logic gates, systems, and methods are provided. In at least one example, a photonic logic gate includes first and second inputs. The first input is configured to receive a first light having a first intensity and a first polarization. The second input is configured to receive a second light having a second intensity and a second polarization. The photonic logic gate is configured to generate a logical output based on the first and second intensities and the first and second polarizations of the first and second lights.
