  • Publication number: 20240013909
Abstract: An ultrasound system may include an ultrasound device that includes a first wired communication module and a first wireless communication module. The ultrasound system may further include a processing device that includes a second wired communication module and a second wireless communication module. The processing device may pair with the ultrasound device over a wireless connection using the first wireless communication module and the second wireless communication module. The processing device may further indicate a wireless connection on a display screen of the processing device. The processing device may further conduct an ultrasound imaging session over the wireless connection. The processing device may further determine that a cable has been connected between the ultrasound device and the processing device. The processing device may further terminate the wireless connection with the ultrasound device.

  • Publication number: 20210038191
Abstract: Aspects of the technology described herein relate to prolonging battery life in an electronic device, such as ultrasound devices. A system may include an ultrasound device and a package. The ultrasound device may include magnetic sensing circuitry. The package may include a lid, and the lid may include a magnet. The magnetic sensing circuitry may control power received by communication circuitry in the ultrasound device based on detecting a magnet that is external to the ultrasound device. For example, the magnetic sensing circuitry may disable power rails in the power circuitry that provide power to communication circuitry when the magnetic sensing circuitry detects the magnet. When the magnetic sensing circuitry cannot detect the magnet, the power circuitry may enter a default state in which power rails provide power to the communication circuitry. The ultrasound device may include an indicator that enters a turn-on sequence when the lid is removed from the package.

  • Patent number: 7504177
Abstract: A reserve battery including a dual-purpose fill port member that also operates as a battery activation mechanism. The reserve battery includes a frangible barrier positioned inside a case. The frangible barrier divides the case into a first compartment holding cell electrodes and a second compartment capable of holding an electrolyte in isolation from the first compartment. Positioned in the second compartment proximate to the frangible barrier is a fill port member that is movable in response to an applied force for rupturing the frangible barrier. The fill port member also has a fluid passageway for use in transferring an amount of the electrolyte to the second compartment. The dual purpose of the fill port member is that it efficiently uses the available space and permits the design and production of a more compact reserve battery for use in space-limited applications, such as artillery shells.
