  • Patent number: 7306459
Abstract: A method of filling a dental root canal is disclosed herein. The method includes gaining access to the dental root canal and introducing a flowable photosensitizer into the dental root canal. After introducing the flowable photosensitizer into the dental root operation is performed for activating the flowable photosensitizer by exposing the walls of the dental root canal to light via an optical fiber within the dental root canal. Activating the flowable photosensitizer at least partially kills bacteria within the dental root canal and pulp chamber. After activating the flowable photosensitizer, the dental root canal is obturated.

  • Publication number: 20070271884
Abstract: An assembly for collecting material entrained in a gas stream comprising a housing having a head part and a body part, and inlet and outlet ports. A chamber port is provided in the head part having internal walls defining a primary chamber with a first end communicating with the chamber port and an opening at a second end. The axis of the first and second ends of the primary chamber are non-aligned. A flow conduit device has a first end which can fit into the primary chamber in the housing head part so that it is directed generally towards the chamber port in the housing and a second end which is directed towards the body part of the housing to provide a conduit for gas to flow between the body part of the housing and the outlet port. The flow conduit reduces turbulence in the flow of gas within the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20070029480
Abstract: An electron beam heating device with the temperature up to 2200 K is provided for heating a sample and a tip for a scanning tunneling microscope (STM). The electron beam heating device includes a base stage for mating respectively with an electron beam sample heating carrier and an electron beam tip heating carrier, both carriers include a filament. The integration of the filament into the transferable electron beam sample heating carrier and electron beam tip heating carrier enables filament exchange without venting the vacuum system. A fixed distance between the sample and the filament enables reproducible sample temperature control and the filament is mounted at a back of the sample, allowing optical access for temperature measurement, and allowing sample preparation processes without changing positions of the sample or the filament. Once the tip is loaded, a fixed relative position between the tip and the filament enables reproducible control of heating.
