Patent number: 7744018Abstract: A power operated pressure washer having a high pressure liquid supply hose with an inlet fitting formed with an axial stem having a central liquid passageway that can be connected to a pressure washer outlet fitting by a threaded retaining ring. As a feature of this invention, the retaining ring can be unscrewed from the pressure washer outlet for permitting the dissipation and venting of high pressure buildup within the hose while the retaining ring safely retains the hose fitting on the outlet. In one embodiment, the stem has a pair of axially spaced annular sealing members adaptable for sealing engagement with relatively smaller and larger size pressure washer outlets and the stems is formed with a transverse passageway for venting liquid from the central stem passageway around one of the sealing members, as an incident to unscrewing of the retaining ring, while the other sealing member remains in sealed engagement with the pressure washer outlet fitting.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2007Date of Patent: June 29, 2010Assignee: FAIP North America, Inc.Inventors: Gus Alexander, Morgan McCarthy, John Pianetto

Publication number: 20080290659Abstract: A coupling fitting for high pressure hose is provided. The coupling fitting includes a stem portion made of metallic material for connection to the high pressure hose. A coupling head made of a non-metallic material is connected to an end of the stem portion. The coupling head is configured for connection with a complementary fitting.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 12, 2008Publication date: November 27, 2008Applicant: FAIP North America, Inc.Inventors: Gus Alexander, Morgan McCarthy, John Pianetto

Publication number: 20080105283Abstract: The invention provides an abrasion-resistant high pressure hose with an inner core comprising a flexible material; a flexible reinforcing sheath covering the core that has a grid of interwoven strands of reinforcing fiber material; and a clear-coated jacket covering the sheath with an optically transparent or translucent polymeric material such that the reinforcing sheath is visible though the jacket to a user from the outside of the hose. The invention also provides a method of manufacturing a clear-coated abrasion resistant hose. The invention also provides a high pressure washing apparatus with a clear-coated abrasion resistant hose.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2006Publication date: May 8, 2008Applicant: FAIP North America, Inc.Inventors: John Pianetto, Gus Alexander

Patent number: 7222644Abstract: A flexible pressure-washer hose and pressure washing apparatus are disclosed. The hose is of concentric laminar construction and comprises an inner core, an intermediate metallic sheath covering the core, and a jacket covering the intermediate sheath. The disclosed hose has a burst pressure of at least 12,000 psi, yet is highly flexible. The disclosed pressure washer comprises a hose made in accordance with the invention and fluidically connecting a source of pressurized fluid to an operator wand.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2002Date of Patent: May 29, 2007Assignee: FAIP North America, Inc.Inventors: John Pianetto, Morgan McCarthey, Gus Alexander

Patent number: 6991181Abstract: A soaker/sprinkler hose having a cylindrical cross section with radial discharge orifices circumferentially spaced about the entire perimeter of the conduit along the length thereof for simultaneously directing liquid flow streams downwardly into the ground on one side of the conduit for soaking the ground and upwardly into the air for watering the ground in sprinkling fashion. The hose is formed with a plurality of axially aligned rows of discharge orifices, at circumferentially spaced intervals about the conduit, and is cured in a retractable coiled condition which facilitates random direction of the discharging liquid streams when the hose is extended and which facilitates handling and storage of the hose. A method of making the coiled soaker/sprinkler hose also is disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2002Date of Patent: January 31, 2006Assignee: Faip North America, Inc.Inventors: Gus Alexander, John Pianetto, Morgan P. McCarthy

Patent number: 6779745Abstract: A universal pressure washer extension/replacement hose adapted for use with pressure washers which have different diameter liquid discharge outlets. The extension hose has identical connecting fittings at its opposite ends, one of which can be coupled in sealed relation to a pressure washer outlet of either of two known sizes and the other of which is connectable to a spray gun hose through a universal adaptor having connecting chambers of said two known sizes.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2003Date of Patent: August 24, 2004Assignee: FAIP North America, Inc.Inventors: Gus Alexander, Morgan McCarthy, John Pianetto
