Publication number: 20250281216Abstract: Described here are devices, systems, and methods for applying pulsed or modulated electric fields to tissue. In some variations, a method of treating a target tissue may comprise advancing a pulsed electric field device and a visualization device to the target tissue of a patient. The pulsed electric field device may comprise an elongate body and an expandable member coupled to the elongate body. A suction catheter may be advanced from a lumen of the visualization device. Suction may be applied to the portion of the target tissue through the one or more fluid openings of the expandable member using the suction catheter. A pulsed waveform may be delivered to an electrode array of the pulsed electric field device to generate a pulsed or modulated electric field thereby treating the target tissue.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2025Publication date: September 11, 2025Inventors: Robert Anthony D'AGOSTINO, Matthew HEIDNER, Zackary BECKER, John POCRNICH, Dennis LARSON

Publication number: 20220142725Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a guidewire slack take-up module (STUM) that engages a guidewire, by a retractor module (RM), to displace the guidewire in a proximal direction (D1) in response to a tensioning command signal (TCS) and maintains a predetermined biasing force (PBF) in D1 when the RM is not engaged. In an illustrative example, the STUM may include a connection module (CM) disposed at a proximal end of a control member (CM). The CM may have its distal end fixedly attached to a distal end of a flexible shaft. The RM may, in response to the TCS, engage the CM to displace the proximal end of the CM in D1. A biasing member may apply the PBF to the CM in D1 when the RM is not engaging the CM. Various embodiments may advantageously reduce or eliminate slack in a guidewire of a steerable catheter.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2021Publication date: May 12, 2022Applicant: Nextern Innovation, LLCInventors: John Pocrnich, Steve Gigl, John Swoyer

Patent number: 11013533Abstract: Systems and methods for delivering and retrieving a leadless pacemaker are described. A leadless pacemaker retrieval system includes a catheter system having a snare assembly to capture the leadless pacemaker. The catheter system includes sheaths extending distally from a shaft, and the snare assembly includes several snare legs, such as segments of snare loops, that extend from one sheath to connect to another sheath. The snare loops can have bights that connect to opposing sheaths to form a docking space between the legs of the snare loops and radially between the sheaths. The snare assembly is movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position by translating the snare legs within lumens of the corresponding sheaths. In the engaged position, the snare assembly tightens around the leadless pacemaker to allow the leadless pacemaker to be retrieved. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2018Date of Patent: May 25, 2021Assignee: PACESETTER, INC.Inventors: Daniel Goodman, John Pocrnich
