  • Patent number: 9763509
Abstract: A fragrance product for dispensing and topically applying a viscous fragrance composition, such as a gel, is provided. The product includes an applicator which may house a charge of fragrance composition and which may comprise a hemispherical head portion for spreading a film of the fragrance composition onto a human integument. The product further includes a base for seating and storing the applicator. Methods of using the fragrance product are also described.

  • Publication number: 20120269468
Abstract: A flexible packaging structure has built-in opening features in a laminate with a first structure adhesively joined to a second structure. A tear area is formed by laser ablation of the laminate along a junction between the first and second portions preferably prior to assembling the laminate into the package. Laser ablation begins at the center of the tear area and progressively moves the laser in a direction radially outward from the center of the tear area. During assembly of the package, a seal is formed between end portions of the first and second portions of the laminate. A score line and a sealant reduction area are also introduced to the package to facilitate opening. The package is opened by pulling the seal near the tear area in a direction along the score line until the contents of the package are accessible.

  • Publication number: 20110150371
Abstract: A flexible pouch is formed from a laminate having built-in opening features. The laminate is wrapped/folded into a generally tubular configuration and sealed at top and bottom ends and along a longitudinal fin. A tear initiation feature is provided in the form of a hole extending through the laminate and located within a top seal of the pouch. The tear initiation feature is located at one longitudinal edge of the pouch when the laminate is wrapped and sealed to form the pouch. A fin tear-propagating feature is also provided in the form of two tear areas formed respectively in the side edges of the laminate such that the tear areas substantially coincide on the fin so as to form the fin tear-propagating feature, the fin tear-propagating feature being substantially in transverse alignment with the tear initiation feature. In another embodiment, the tear initiation feature is provided as a score line extending across the pouch.

  • Publication number: 20050276525
Abstract: A flexible packaging laminate is formed to have a built-in opening and reclose feature by forming the laminate as a two-part structure having an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation with an inner structure. Score lines are formed in both structures to enable an opening to be formed through the laminate by lifting an opening portion (e.g., a flap or the like) of the two structures out of the plane of the laminate. The score line through the outer structure defines a larger opening than the score line through the inner structure, such that a marginal region of the outer structure extends beyond the edge of the opening portion of the inner structure. A pressure-sensitive adhesive is used to re-adhere the marginal region to an underlying surface of the inner structure adjacent the opening through the laminate.

  • Patent number: 5514141
Abstract: A reamer designed to create convex, curved shapes on small bones. The reamer comprises a body with a center bore throughout, and a concave head with at least three flutes. The flutes extend from the center of the head outward, being unconnected to each other in any way except at the center of the head portion. Each flute has an outer curved surface, which together form the partially hemispherical outer surface of the head. The inner curved surface is angled to facilitate rapid clearing of bone chips from the work surface. The distal end of each flute has a flat end surface, which is sufficiently large to prevent the flutes from breaking. Each flute also has two side surfaces, a cutting surface and a non-cutting surface. The small joint reamer according to the invention allows bone chips to be cleared easily during operation. This prevents overheating of the bone surface, which can cause necrosis of the bone, preventing proper healing of the patient.
