  • Publication number: 20070262016
Abstract: A filter assembly is provided which includes an outer filter sleeve formed at least in part by a plurality of pleats, an inner filter sleeve formed at least in part by a plurality of pleats, wherein the inner and outer filter sleeves define a passage therebetween. An inlet cap is secured to a first end of the inner and outer filter sleeves and it has at least one inlet port communicating with the passage, and an end cap is secured to a second end of the inner and outer filter sleeves and it has an end surface closing the passage. Methods of forming such a filter assembly are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070062859
Abstract: A fluid filtration unit having two or more filter medium layers and/or zones, at least one of the layers/zones having a different particle retention capability disposed on each side of a non-filtering separator element. The filter medium are presently preferably positioned such that each succeedingly distal filter layer or zone from the separator has a decreased particle retention capability than each proceeding filter layer or zone. The filter medium layer most proximal to the separator element may be separated from the separator by a support material for supporting such filter medium element and preventing collapsing of the medium into any separator conduit. At least one of the medium elements is formed from a material which swells in size due to fluid absorption with the various zones and the separator being operatively connected by a new and innovative edge seal.

  • Publication number: 20050056582
Abstract: An improved liquid filter device comprising a first non-collapsible filter element formed of filter media; a second non-collapsible filter element formed of filter media, the first filter element being operatively contained within the second filter element such that a first space is operatively formed therebetween, the first filter element operatively forming a second space interiorly thereof; an inlet plate, operatively connected at one end of both the first and second filter elements, the inlet plate having an outer circumferential edge and a central area, the second filter element being operatively connected to the inlet plate proximate to the outer edge of the inlet plate, the first filter element being connected to the inlet plate proximate to the central area, the inlet plate operatively communicating with the first space between the first and second filter elements such that the flow of liquid to be filtered is directed into the first space, each filter element being non-collapsible in the axial direct

  • Publication number: 20040075221
Abstract: A filter system having a filter bag in a housing. The filter bag is attached to an inlet flange. The inlet flange has a lip portion located at its edges that rest upon the housing and will contact a lid covering the housing. The lip portion will have an elastomer seal located at the places where it contacts the housing and lid respectively. The elastomer seal is overmolded onto the inlet flange to be an integral part of the inlet flange. A portion of the seal extends from the inlet flange in the direction of the housing. That portion is parallel and in contact with the lid.
