  • Publication number: 20110244098
Abstract: An improved system for filtering particulate matter from a liquid in a brewing pot. The improvement includes a filter assembly positioned about a drain tube. The filter assembly has a screen member surrounded by a shield member. The shield member is positioned between the drain tube and the particulate matter separated from the liquid. The bulk of the liquid, located in a top portion of a reservoir bypasses the screen member and drains through a drain reservoir and the drain tube. After removing the shield member, the remainder of the liquid drains through the screen member or filter and into the drain reservoir preventing the particulate matter from being carried through to a fermentor.

  • Patent number: 7192187
Abstract: An improved temperature measuring device for the in-line temperature measurement of fluids which does not require intimate contact of the fluid with the temperature sensing element. In addition, the invention contains no internal cavities or crevices making it very advantageous for food and chemical usage. In the preferred embodiment, a liquid crystal temperature sensing element is affixed to a thermally conductive fluid carrying member. Each end of this fluid carrying member having fittings which enables the thermometer assembly to be quickly removed for cleaning and sanitizing.

  • Patent number: 6584997
Abstract: An overflow prevention mechanism for use in association with liquid transfer systems of the type including an electrically controllable flow control device such as a pump connected between a source of liquid and a liquid tank, the mechanism including a backup liquid level sensor and a shunt trip breaker or other normally-closed switching device. The backup liquid level sensor senses if the level of liquid within the tank reaches an extreme high level. When the liquid level within the tank reaches the extreme high level the backup liquid level sensor produces an output indicative of the liquid having reached such extreme high level. The shunt trip breaker is connected between the source of electrical energy and the flow control device.

  • Patent number: 6164062
Abstract: An exhaust system for an internal combustion engine includes an enclosure with a top wall having an opening. An exhaust pipe includes an exhaust outlet and an outlet flange which is attached to the pipe at the exhaust outlet. The outlet flange is disposed adjacent to the opening in the enclosure. An exhaust muffler includes an exhaust inlet and an inlet flange which is attached to the muffler at the exhaust inlet. A rain skirt is interposed between and attached to each of the outlet flange of the exhaust pipe and the inlet flange of the exhaust muffler. The rain skirt has a hole therein allowing fluid communication between the exhaust pipe and the exhaust muffler. The rain skirt extends outwardly from the outlet flange and prevents water from entering into the enclosure through the opening.
