  • Patent number: 6830128
Abstract: A temporary ladder tree stand anchor for ladder stand with a ladder portion and a platform with a frame, seat and foot support. The temporary anchor includes a cord with two ends and an intermediate section for wrapping about the tree. The cord anchor is on one side of the platform to secure one end of the cord thereto. A cord catch is on the other side of the platform for slidably capturing the intermediate cord section to permit drawing of the other cord end to pull and temporary anchor the ladder tree stand to the tree while the hunter is one the ground thereby permitting climbing up and down the tree stand safely when the tree stand is not securely anchored to the tree.

  • Publication number: 20020134001
Abstract: A scent dispenser for attracting game and dipping into a scent container has an absorbent member with an aperture for suspending the absorbent member from a rod, stick or pole. The absorbent member has legs with a gap between them that allows each leg to be dipped into a container holding scent to be dispensed. The scent dispenser can be used in a method of dispensing scent about the hunting position by suspending the scent dispenser from a rod, stick or pole and walking about the hunting position with the scent dispenser dripping scent onto the ground.

  • Patent number: 6158668
Abstract: A reusable hanging container and scent wick for attracting big game has a closed end with a hanger for supporting the container above the ground. An opening into the container is located on the bottom of the container with a cap to sealably close the container. A scent wick for receiving and disbursing a big game scent is sized to fit within the container to permit the sealing of the container with a cap. The scent wick is shaped to permit a substantial portion of the wick to fall out of the container to expose the scent wick while the container above protects the wick from falling moisture.

  • Patent number: 5555663
Abstract: A heated animal scent lure dispenser includes a container with an interior, exterior, threaded neck and opening at the neck. A cap is threadable onto the neck for at least partially closing the opening. A heating element or chemical charge is locatable within the container which will in turn heat the container. A wick suitably made from a knit fabric substantially covers the container with a large surface area upon which the liquid scent lure may be placed and from which the liquid scent lure may be dispersed under the influence of the heated container. The wick may also have insulation qualities and a suitable plastic bag or the like may be used to seal the dispenser within the bag and to starve the dispenser from oxygen.

  • Patent number: 5361527
Abstract: A device for use by hunters for the depositing of animal scent for the purpose of attracting game. The invention includes a rigid scent container releasably and sealably engagable with a temperature buffering scent reservoir. The present invention is suspendable above the ground whereby the scent reservoir depends below the scent container. The scent reservoir includes an attachment portion providing for the releasable and sealable engagement with the container, and a reservoir portion. The reservoir portion has an exterior surface defining an interior volume thereof. The scent reservoir also includes a conduit having a first end adjacent the attachment portion and secured thereto, and a second end terminating within the interior volume of the reservoir portion. The conduit provides for fluid communication of the liquid scent between the interior of the container and the scent reservoir portion. A scent releasing orifice extends through the surface of the reservoir portion above the second end of the conduit.

  • Patent number: 5155950
Abstract: A tick repellant belt to be worn about the waist of an outdoorsman who wears pants with tightly closed cuffs to ward off or trap bloodsucking arachnids. The belt is comprised of a flexible band having outer and inner surfaces and two ends adapted to releasably interlock to secure the band's inner surface tightly against the outdoorsman to prevent ticks from passing upwardly between the band's inner surface and the outdoorsman. A tick barrier means is located on the outer surface which will prevent the tick from moving upwardly onto the outdoorsman beyond the belt. The tick barrier means includes variations of adhesive surfaces, lubricated surfaces, chemical surfaces and electrical conducting surfaces.
