  • Patent number: 6484366
Abstract: A cable tie is used in conjunction with a cable tie installation tool to bundle a plurality of objects, such as wires or cables. The cable tie includes a head and a tail, the head having a pair of outwardly projecting wings. The tail is capable of insertion through the head so that the cable tie takes the shape of a loop with the tail engaging and being locked in position by a pawl inside the head, the tail being incapable of removal once it is inserted in the head. The cable tie installation tool includes a housing which is adapted to receive an individually loaded cable tie and which protects internal components of the tool. A transport assembly, which includes a motor driven belt, advances the tail of the cable tie around the plurality of objects to be bundled. A jaw assembly, which includes an upper jaw and a lower jaw that are driven by a motor into open, closed and overdosed positions, guides the tail through the head to form the cable tie into a closed loop around the desired bundle.

  • Publication number: 20020078035
Abstract: An interface program stored on a computer-readable medium for causing a computer system with a display device to perform the functions of: accepting search criteria from a user including a free text entry query and a domain identifier identifying a domain; in response to accepting the search criteria, retrieving a plurality of record identifiers each of which identifies a corresponding record which: (1) has associated therewith a location identifier that locates it at a specific location within the domain identified by the domain identifier; and (2) contains information that is responsive to the free text entry query; displaying a representation of the domain on the display device; and displaying on the display device a plurality of icons as representations of the records identified by the plurality of record identifiers, wherein for each of the record identifiers, a corresponding one of the plurality of icons is displayed within the representation of the domain that is being displayed on the display device,

  • Patent number: 5915424
Abstract: A one-piece guide tool for use in guiding a harnessing device underneath a plurality of wires disposed on a harness board. The guide tool comprises an elongated body having a top surface on which the plurality of wires can be seated, a pair of sides and an elongated slot. The elongated slot extends down from the top surface and includes an entry end and an exit end. The elongated slot has a depth sufficient to enable a harnessing device to be guided into the elongated slot from the entry end, underneath the plurality of wires seated on the top surface and then out through the exit end without slipping out of the slot. Each of the sides of the elongated body includes a tab for mounting the guide tool onto the harness board.

  • Patent number: 5426719
Abstract: A combination hearing protector and communication device may be incorporated into a set of earmuffs or earplugs, meeting the needs of workers who must work in hazardous noise environments and who must be able to communicate with each other as well as with persons outside the hazardous noise environment. Each unit of the system has two channels, one to transmit speech and one to receive speech. While each wearer will have an independent transmission channel, all wearers can use the same receiving channel. The system is designed to be incorporated into earmuffs or earplugs in such a way that their noise-reducing characteristics are not diminished. The system incorporated into the earmuff is no more difficult to use than a conventional pair of noise-reducing earmuffs in that nothing additional need be fitted into or onto the ears. Likewise, the system incorporated into the earplugs is as easy to use as custom-molded noise-reducing earplugs which are corded to keep them together.

  • Patent number: 4456145
Abstract: A weatherproof outlet cover is composed of a metal cover plate having an aperture, a generally U-shaped bracket secured to the plate adjacent the aperture and an aperture cover for covering the aperture. The aperture cover includes a main body which is shaped to cover the plate aperture and an extension which fits between the bracket legs. Hinge posts projecting from the sides of the extension hingedly connect the aperture cover to the bracket legs so that the cover can swing toward and away from the plate. The aperture cover extension also defines a pocket which is open at the underside of the aperture cover and in which a coiled wire spring is positioned on the hinge axis.
