  • Patent number: 10218880
Abstract: A method for image processing acquires a digital image as a collection of image pixel data and identifies the acquired digital image as a faded image. One or more statistical values is calculated to characterize the distribution of digital image values over a range for a first color channel. The range of values for each of the color channels is expanded. At least first and second non-overlapping sub-ranges of the expanded range of values are identified for each of the color channels, wherein a boundary between the sub-ranges is defined according to the calculated statistical value for the first color channel. The first sub-range is expanded and the second sub-range for each of the color channels compressed to form a color balanced image that is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20170078611
Abstract: In an imaging evaluation method, camera, and system, a scene is imaged with a camera. User inputs to the camera are received concurrent with the imaging. The inputs each define a setting of one of a plurality of operational functions of the camera. The inputs are valued to provide a set of input values. An image value index is calculated using the input values.

  • Patent number: 8473525
Abstract: A system for associating content-relevant metadata with digital image files. The system searches memory for at least one image file deficient of content-relevant metadata and analyzes the at least one image file for determining existing content-relevant metadata. The at least one image file and at least a portion of candidate content-relevant metadata is presented to the to a user. The user is allowed to acknowledge the portion of the candidate content-relevant metadata presented, which can then be stored in a database.

  • Patent number: 8305452
Abstract: Pre-image-acquisition information is obtained by a digital camera and transmitted to a system external to the digital camera. The system is configured to provide image-acquisition settings to the digital camera. In this regard, the digital camera receives the image-acquisition settings from the external system and performs an image-acquisition sequence based at least upon the received image-acquisition settings. Accordingly, the determination of image-acquisition settings can be performed remotely from the digital camera, where data-processing resources can greatly exceed those within the digital camera.
