  • Patent number: 9541946
Abstract: Embodiments of quantum clocks for a master/slave architecture are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a coupled pair of entangled particles is generated using a particle source. A first of the entangled particles of the coupled pair is used as a master clock. A second of the entangled particles of the coupled pair is used as a slave clock. Quantum states of the first entangled particle of the coupled pair associated with the master clock and the second of the entangled particles of the coupled pair associated with the slave clock are entangled by an Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) link.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 6, 2013
Date of Patent: January 10, 2017
    Assignee: Raytheon Company
Inventors: Steven J. Silverman, Nils Paz, John R. Harmon
  • Patent number: 9331843
Abstract: A quantum mechanical synchronization system for a classical distributed computing system. Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen links are established providing entangled photons to provide the quantum synchronization. In one embodiment, the system includes a laser oscillator pump, a spontaneous parametric down-conversion element coupled to the laser oscillator pump, the spontaneous parametric down-conversion element having a first optical output and a second optical output, a first photodetector coupled to the first optical output, a first clock coupled to the first photodetector, a second photodetector coupled to the second optical output by an optical link, and a second clock coupled to the second photodetector.

Date of Patent: May 3, 2016
    Assignee: RAYTHEON COMPANY

  • Patent number: 4881866
Abstract: A sheet handling apparatus adapted for attachment to a fork lift truck for transporting stacks of vertically disposed sheet material from one location to another. The apparatus includes a frame adapted for attachment to the forks of a fork lift truck and a lower support for supporting the lower edges of the sheets. The lower support is adjustably connected to the frame permitting vertical adjustment of the lower support relative to the frame. The apparatus also includes an upper support pivotally mounted on the frame for engaging the back side of the stack during transport.

  • Patent number: 4309938
Abstract: A smoker device including a smoke chamber, a smoke generator mounted to the bottom of the chamber, and a plurality of conveyors positioned to move food through the smoke chamber in an alternating path from an entry opening to an exit opening. The associated ends of successive conveyors have complementary shaped portions to provide for the food to be inverted as it passes from a first conveyor to a second conveyor and to inhibit overlapping or other disarray of the food as it passes from one conveyor to the next.
