  • Patent number: 5083729
Abstract: A storage system for holding athletic equipment comprising a body member having a first side, a second side, a back opening, and an inside surface communicating with the back opening. The inside surface has a first and second inside arcuate surface respective in the first and second side of the body member. A pair of rib members is integrally bound to the inside surface of the body member. Each rib member has a rib lip protruding therefrom. The rib lip of each rib member protrudes towards each other such as to define a rib opening there between. A lower and upper height adjustment member is slidably disposed within the body member against the first and second inside arcuate surface. A first external channel member is connected to the first side and has a first channel opening, and a second external channel member is connected to the second side and has a second channel opening.

  • Patent number: 5063638
Abstract: A hinge assembly is disclosed. A jamb cover of the assembly is adjustably mounted relative to a wall jamb. An adjuster sub-assembly is mounted within the jamb cover. The adjuster sub-assembly includes a bracket with a nut mounted thereon. An adjuster screw, the head of which is secured in a keyhole slot of the wall jamb, threadably engages the nut. A leaf spring is attached to the bracket, and a hinge member for the door extends through the jamb cover and contacts the leaf spring. The hinge is thus concealed from view.

  • Patent number: 5049394
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition in the form of beads prepared by an extrusion-spheronization technique and containing more than 80% by weight drug, less than 15% by weight non-lipophilic binder-plasticizer, such as microcrystalline cellulose to achieve required plasticity for processing, a starch-based excipient such as sodium starch glycolate or pregelatinized starch to control water/fluid distribution and thereby inhibit agglomeration during processing, and water-soluble binder such as hydrolyzed gelatin to make the final beads less friable. During processing a granulating agent such as ethanol/water is added to improve blend properties and control during spheronization. A method for preparing the above beads is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4792452
Abstract: A controlled release pharmaceutical formulation is provided which releases a pharmaceutical of a basic character at a controlled rate regardless of the pH of the environment, which formulation includes a basic pharmaceutical, up to about 45% by weight of a pH dependent polymer which is a salt of alginic acid, such as sodium alginate, up to about 35% by weight of a pH-independent hydrocarbon gelling agent having a viscosity of up to about 100,000 centipoises in 2% solution at 20.degree. C., binder and excipients.

  • Patent number: 4654577
Abstract: A permanent magnet rotary electric machine has two permanent magnet rotors rotatable within respective stator windings, and drivingly connected to an input shaft. The driving connection to one of the rotors is provided by an epicyclic gear train to which the input shaft is coupled. A second input to the gear train is provided by a gear carrier which is angularly movable about the input shaft axis by an actuator which is responsive to a difference between a desired and sensed operating condition of the machine, as for example desired and sensed values of output voltage when the machine is a generator.

  • Patent number: 4538318
Abstract: An improved push broom assembly is disclosed which includes a shroud portion retaining a plurality of bristles thereon and a neck portion angularly protruding from a face of the shroud portion opposite to that which retains the bristles thereon. The neck portion is comprised of two pieces, a first piece integrally formed with the shroud portion and including a recess, and a second piece designed to removably fit into the above noted recess and to combine with the first piece to comprise a completed neck portion. The completed neck portion comprised of the first and second pieces has internal threads which mesh with external threads on a broom handle and further includes exterior threads which mesh with a cap device having interior threads thereon and threaded over the neck portion so as to retain the first and second pieces thereof together.

  • Patent number: 4302862
Abstract: A snow removal tool having a brush and a handle. The tool can be assembled in a T-shaped mode by locking an end of the handle to the center of the brush. When the brush is not used in the T-shaped mode, the handle is pushed into the hollow tube of the brush and twist locked in a short longitudinal mode. The handle can also be locked in one end of the tube of the brush thereby permitting the handle to act as an extension of the brush when a longer reach is desired.

  • Patent number: 4244168
Abstract: An implement for sweeping and raking having a base, a handle attached to the base, and bristles extending out of the base. Each bristle has a first portion, one end of which is engaged in the base, and a similar length, second portion bent at an angle to the first portion. The bent angle between the portions of each bristle is between about 100.degree. and 150.degree., whereby the implement operates as a broom when it is pushed away from the user and as a rake when it is pulled towards the user.

  • Patent number: 4096675
Abstract: A house includes a split-slab foundation having an upper portion constructed within an enclosed on-tract factory and a lower portion constructed on the lot. The superstructure of the house is erected upon the upper portion, and the super-structure and upper portion are transported off-highway by air-cushion transport to the lot where the slab upper portion is mated with the lower portion. The upper portion is uniquely constructed with areas of increased thickness to withstand the shear forces of parts of the house having substantial weight, with pipe passageways to accommodate pipes built into the lower portion, and with means for releaseably attaching an air impermeable skirt used for air cushion transport. The lower portion is uniquely constructed with recessed areas to accommodate the areas of the upper portion having increased thickness and the pipes therein are positioned to be in register with the passageways in the upper portion.
