    Abstract: A shower filter is adapted to be installed between a plumbing pipe and a shower head. The filter includes a changeable filter cartridge. A three position valve in the appliance is able to (a) block all flow of water, (b) deliver filtered water, or (c) deliver unfiltered water. An adapter may be used to enable the appliance to receive different types of filter cartridges.
