    Abstract: An improved system and method for using polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a processing fluid additive for safely and effectively treating water-wet hogout propellant as well as any other water-wet propellants, explosives and hazardous wastes (solids and liquids) to make them compatible with the MSO process. The method includes the step of applying liquid PEG to the hazardous waste to create a slurry or feedstock that when fed directly into the MSO reactor vessel prevents the occurrence of smelt-water explosions due to the accumulation of dangerous levels of sodium chloride, and/or sodium sulfide in the molten salt bath. The PEG possesses special qualities that make it ideal for this purpose. It is a low cost, low viscosity, commercially available, non-hazardous (per OSHA standards), water soluble, low toxicity chemical that burns cleanly leaving little or no residue.

    Abstract: An ordnance venting system has an ordnance device having a casing with a vent opening, a dome plug fitted into the formed vent opening and an adapter fitted over the dome plug on the outside of the casing. The adapter connects sufficiently to the casing to retain the dome plug against the formed vent opening for given pressures. The adapter melts at high temperatures and releases the dome plug to reduce the danger of explosion from heat induced over-pressurization.

    Abstract: A rocket-launched line charge apparatus for obstacle breaching includes at least two explosive charges connected by detonating cord. The detonating cord passes through a flexible tubing, and is bunched in a sinuous arrangement within the plastic tubing so as to store excess detonating cord. The detonating cord is attached to the two ends of the flexible tubing by cable ties. The explosive charges, the tubing and the detonating cord are enclosed in a fabric sock formed by overbraiding, the fabric sock being the strength member connecting the two explosive charges during deployment. The plastic tubing arrangement is applicable to storage of other cords in other systems involving tethered deployment of objects.
