  • Publication number: 20030111902
Abstract: A distance, speed and direction sensitive processor coupled to a brake controller. The processor executes instructions to compare actual vehicle performance with that of a deceleration profile and modulates the brake controller to bring vehicle performance into agreement with the profile. Distance information is provided by a radar sensor for long ranges, an ultrasonic sensor for medium ranges, and a wheel rotation sensor for short ranges. Speed information is provided by a vehicle mounted sensor or calculated by the processor based on distance. Direction information is provided by a vehicle mounted switch or determined by the processor based on distance. The brake controller includes a hold valve and a dump valve, each of which is modulated with a pulse train signal.

  • Patent number: 5873636
Abstract: A balance weight retention system for a vehicle whcel or a vehicle hub including an inner portion and an outer portion having a non-threaded opening formed therethrough and a balance weight having a non-threaded opening formed therethrough. A fastener extends through the non-threaded opening of the balance weight and into the non-threaded opening of the outer portion of the wheel or hub to thereby secure the balance weight to the associated vehicle wheel or vehicle hub.

  • Patent number: 4462495
Abstract: A process is disclosed for the separation of a mixture of particles containing differing concentrations of a selected component into three fractions of similar concentration of the selected component. The process comprises conditioning the mixture of particles with a hydrophobic or hydrophilic surface-active agent to selectively coat each of the particles relative to the concentration of the selected component in each particle. In combination with the surface-active agent there is provided a fluorescent dye which either adheres to the coated or non-coated particles. The mixture of conditioned particles is then irradiated to excite and induce fluorescence of the fluorescent dye to a degree sufficient to distinguish among the intensities of fluorescence of the fluorescent dye on the various particles. The particles are separated into concentrate, middling and tailing fractions based upon distinguishing among the intensities of fluorescence.

  • Patent number: 4241102
Abstract: Apparatus and a method for the selective conditioning, wetting and coating of particles with a selective wetting agent. The apparatus includes a horizontally extending surface capable of vibration which vibration induces uniform translatory movement along the surface to particles upon the surface. A vertically extending barrier is on the surface and extends across the surface and at right angle to the direction of movement of particles upon the surface. A means for spraying the selective wetting agent onto the particles as they move along the surface and before they reach the barrier is provided. Means for removing excess wetting agent are provided on the surface along the direction of movement of the particles after the barrier. A pool of the selective wetting agent forms behind the barrier upon the surface.

  • Patent number: 3944653
Abstract: Antimony sulfide contained in an antimony sulfide bearing ore, such as stibnite, is converted to high purity antimony trichloride by reacting the antimony sulfide bearing ore with a source of chlorine to form high purity antimony trichloride and sulfur or hydrogen sulfide as separable by-products. The high purity antimony trichloride may be hydrolyzed to form high purity antimony oxide.
