  • Patent number: 5726401
Abstract: A cable interlock system is provided for preventing at least two circuit breakers from both being closed, comprising: a first circuit breaker assembly comprising a first main contact, a first cross bar, a first cross bar plunger, a first transfer assembly and a first operating handle, wherein the first operating handle is adapted to close or open the first circuit breaker assembly, and wherein the first cross bar plunger is adapted to contact the first cross bar, and wherein the first transfer assembly is adapted to move the first cross bar plunger; a second circuit breaker assembly comprising a second main contact, a second cross bar, a second cross bar plunger, a second transfer assembly and a second operating handle, wherein the second operating handle is adapted to close or open the second circuit breaker assembly, and wherein the second cross bar plunger is adapted to contact the second cross bar, and wherein the second transfer assembly is adapted to move the second cross bar plunger; a cable assembly h

  • Patent number: 5321574
Abstract: A circuit breaker/surge arrestor package for plug-in installation in the space of two standard one-inch openings in a contemporary residential load center. The electrical and thermal characteristics of the components are selected such that a threshold of a substantially continuous current through a Metal Oxide Varistor in the surge arrestor causes the circuit breaker to trip magnetically before being able to trip thermally.

  • Patent number: 4902859
Abstract: A mechanical interlock for interlocking two circuit breakers such that only one of the circuit breakers is ON at a given time. The interlock is also configured such that it permits both circuit breakers to be OFF at the same time. The interlock includes a pivoting rocker arm and a linkage assembly associated with each breaker, wherein the rocker arm and linkage assemblies cooperate to transfer motion between the tie bars of the circuit breakers.

  • Patent number: 4897515
Abstract: An apparatus for locking the switch handle of a circuit breaker in the ON or OFF position. The apparatus includes a blocking member mountable on the handle with two screws, a pivoting member pivotable about the screws and a lock for locking the blocking member to the pivoting member. When the blocking member and the pivoting member are locked together, the blocking member is maintained in a position such that it interferes with the circuit breaker housing and prevents the handle from being moved.
