  • Patent number: 5873066
Abstract: A computer-implemented system for managing the underwriting, quoting and binding by an insurance company of an excess casualty insurance policy for an insured having a primary insurance policy with a primary insurance limit amount. The system selects and stores at least one standard industrial classification code ("SIC code") associated with the insured and a primary carrier name or multiple carriers associated with the primary insurance policy. A plurality of SIC code records corresponding to a plurality of SIC codes are stored in a database. Each of the SIC code records are linked to underwriting guidelines established and filed by the insurance carrier. These criteria include guidelines related to minimum premiums, hazard rating, underwriting authority, and referral criteria. Primary insurance carrier public bureau rating records are also stored in the database.

  • Patent number: 4296858
Abstract: A package for a plurality of containers having retained pull-tab openers. The package comprises a primary package for handling such containers when in the full condition, as well as a secondary package permitting users of the containers to repackage them when empty. A flat sheet member is secured by tabs which lock over an array of containers which have been packaged utilizing a thermoplastic-type packaging device. The flat sheet member includes tabs which lock the member to finger holes in the thermoplastic device. This sheet member further includes particularly designed slots, equal in number to the number of containers packaged, which lock the retained tabs in the sheet for efficient handling and return of empty containers.

  • Patent number: 4192096
Abstract: A plant container for growing plants to a stage suitable for transplanting. The plant container comprises a base having an imperforate upper surface with a rib upstanding from the upper center of the base and a removable sleeve arrangement that is disposed concentrically about the rib. The lower edge of the sleeve arrangement is disposed on or adjacent to the outer upper peripheral surface of the base to provide drainage openings therebetween. The sleeve arrangement is removable to permit the base and root mass and growing medium of the plant grown in the container and disposed about the rib to be transplanted as a unit. The rib functions to hold the root mass and growing medium of the plant on the base and to permit the container, absent the sleeve, to be handled with a minimum loss of growing medium in normal handling and transplanting operations.
