Abstract: Disclosed is a method of brightening skin or evening out the tone of skin comprising topically applying to skin in need thereof a composition comprising a chemically compatible combination of one or more surfactants and at least one chelating agent, ascorbic acid or a derivative thereof, algae extract, and kelp or sodium sulfite and sodium metabisulfite.

Abstract: Apparatus located in an implantable medication infusion pump for quickly and easily detecting a condition adversely affecting medication delivery in the implantable medication infusion pump is disclosed which can reliably detect occurrences including an occluded catheter, the presence of air in the pumping mechanism, and the failure of the pumping mechanism. The system uses the amplitude of an acoustic signal generated by operation of the pumping mechanism as compared with a baseline signal to detect an encapsulated or occluded catheter or air in the fluid line. In addition, the system can detect a partially encapsulated or occluded catheter by detecting repeated downward slope patterns during repetitive, closely spaced pumping cycles.

Abstract: A seat suspension for resiliently attaching a seat assembly to a support frame on a vehicle so as to cushion the ride for the seat occupant comprises: main biasing springs operatively connected between the seat assembly and support frame to initially absorb energy and limit descent as the seat assembly is forced downward; auxiliary biasing springs, including a "hard" spring and a "soft" spring, to subsequently absorb energy and further limit descent after the main springs have been compressed a predetermined amount; and a shock absorber connected between the seat assembly and support frame to dampen vertical motion. A preloading apparatus is provided for adjusting or preloading the main biasing springs to take into account the weight of the seat occupant. A height adjusting apparatus is provided to adjust the height of the seat assembly and associated biasing springs relative to the support frame.

Abstract: There is provided a modular planter system for forming an endless variety of horizontal, vertical and spatial arrangements. The modular planter system includes three or more pot housings each capable of receiving a plant pot. One or more connecting members are attached to each of the pot housings at a plurality of radially spaced-apart locations. The connecting members mate together vertically in order to permit the interconnection of the pot housings in various angular orientations. The pot housings have hollow interiors to permit them to be filled with water and provide water to plants received within the housings by means of a wick. At least one of the pot housings may alternatively be adapted to receive a light fixture to provide the planter system a source of artificial light. The system is supported by a variety of external support means including a floor support base, an adjustable length pole and a ceiling-mounted chain.
