  • Patent number: 5513944
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to convert any fork lift truck to a roll turning fork truck by sliding a specially designed rectangular frame onto the truck forks. Two safety chains are incorporated to firmly attach the device to the fork lift carriage. The frame combines a power winch and cable that engages a roll or coil core via a roll center lift in combination with an arm proceeding out from the roll center lift to the outside mid-width of the roll or coil which is attached to an adjustable fixed length chain. By lowering or raising the winch cable past the fixed length chain, rolls can be turned to either a true horizontal or vertical position. The adjustable "L" frame suspends from the fixed length chain at the lowest point with a pivot pin to achieve the turning feature when the winch cable is activated. Even though a fork truck may be stationary, the center lift is free to guide into the roll because the roll center lift is connected to a flexible cable and flexible chain.

  • Patent number: 4492245
Abstract: An electro-hydraulic control structure having a control input positioning a flapper relative to a nozzle to generate a control output pressure is provided with a squeeze film damper which utilizes the flapper, or an extension thereof, as the movable element of the squeeze film damper. Preferably the flapper is pivoted and forms with the nozzle exhaust passageway a tapered gap receiving a small portion of the nozzle flow which acts as the damping fluid. The majority of the nozzle flow passes through a hollow portion of the flapper located downstream of the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4450353
Abstract: A tilt detecting device having an optical axis extending from a light source to a light responsive device, a spherical opaque body, and a basin, generally symmetrical about the axis and having a concave bottom configured as the surfaces of planes intersecting along lines passing through a common point on the axis, for supporting the body for rolling movement generally transverse to the axis.

  • Patent number: 4403513
Abstract: A capacitive differential pressure transducer for sensing the difference in pressure between at least two fluids includes first and second halves of a housing separated by a diaphragm which acts as a common capacitive plate to the capacitive differential pressure transducer with each housing half being identical and containing an interior chamber which is filled with a force transmitting fluid, a sensing capacitive plate located within the chamber and cooperating with the common capacitive plate, a fastening mechanism for holding the sensing capacitive plate tight against its housing half, sealing devices for sealing in the force transmitting fluid and terminals for connecting the common capacitive plate and the sensing capacitive plate to a sensing circuit.

  • Patent number: 4362182
Abstract: A pilot stage for use in pilot pressure control applications includes a magnetic torque motor having an output torque in response to an input current, a flapper operated by the magnetic torque motor and responsive to the output torque, the magnetic torque motor being arranged to apply a resultant spring rate to the flapper, and first and second nozzles responsive to the output torque applied to the flapper for providing a differential output pressure proportional to input current, the first and second nozzles having a size sufficiently large to swamp out the resultant spring rate applied to the flapper so that the first and second nozzles apply a feedback force to the flapper sufficient by itself to substantially balance motor torque.
