Abstract: A computer-based method and system for management of sourcing of strategic resources for commercial entities is described. Internet/intranet-based portals are accessible by an administrator and one or more respondents representing prospective vendors to enable an administrator to create requests for information, proposals and/or quotations (RFx), and for respondents to submit responses to an RFx by answering questions presented in the RFx. The system also generates reports based on criteria established by the administrator and/or the commercial entity for which the RFx has been issued, using data compiled and/or generated from the answers provided by the respondents to the RFx.
