Publication number: 20240116156Abstract: A power tool including a sensor attachment, a housing, a motor, and a power tool controller. The power tool controller is operable or configured to control power provided to the motor. The sensor attachment is coupled to the power tool's housing and includes a first non-contact sensor and a sensor controller. The sensor controller receives signals from the first non-contact sensor related to distance to a work surface and determines a fastener depth based on the signals from the first non-contact sensor. If the fastener depth is greater than or equal to a desired fastener depth, the sensor controller generates and sends a control signal to the power tool controller. In response, the power tool controller turns off or cuts power to the motor.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 15, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventors: Gareth Mueckl, Tauhira Hoossainy, Leo Mikat-Stevens, Logan Blair, Jake McDermott, Jonathon R. Patent number: 6941345Abstract: A communications system includes a plurality of communities each associated with a service provider. Text-based messaging sessions, such as chat sessions, may be established between users in the communities. A request is received from a user in a first community, the request indicating a desired text-based messaging session with a user in a second community. The user in the second community is notified of a request, and it is determined if the user has accepted the request to establish a text-based messaging session. If so, the text-based messaging session is established between users in the first and second communities. If the user is not available, predetermined information stored in a server may be accessed to determine a plurality of devices that may be employed for communicating with the user. A message is sent to at least a selected one of the plurality of devices.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 1999Date of Patent: September 6, 2005Assignee: Nortel Networks LimitedInventors: Vivek Kapil, John R.
