Publication number: 20250025245Abstract: A surgical tool includes a drive housing, an indicator assembly arranged within the drive housing and actuatable to provide visual indication that the surgical tool has exhausted its useful life. The indicator assembly includes a drive input rotatably coupled to the bottom of the drive housing. The drive input further including a riser and a rim where the riser contains a passage therethrough. The indicator assembly further includes an indicator shaft extending through the passage along a longitudinal axis coaxially aligned with the drive input. The drive input is rotated to actuate the indicator assembly between a non-activated state, where the indicator shaft is recessed into the drive housing, and an activated state, where the indicator shaft extends out of the drive housing to provide the visual indication.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2024Publication date: January 23, 2025Inventors: John A. Publication number: 20230287471Abstract: The invention relates to commercially viable methods for producing biologically active vitamin K dependent proteins, particularly Factor IX. Factor IX is produced at a level of at least about 15 mg/L and is at least 25% biologically active. The method relies upon co-expression of one or more of paired basic amino acid converting enzyme (PACE), vitamin K dependent epoxide reductase (VKOR) and vitamin K dependent ?-glutamyl carboxylase (VKGC) at a preferred ratio so that the vitamin K dependent protein is efficiently produced and processed by a recombinant cell.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2022Publication date: September 14, 2023Inventors: William N. Drohan, Michael J. Griffith, John R. Taylor, Darrel W. Stafford

Patent number: 11277893Abstract: A thermostat for a building includes a light emitting diode (LED) system including one or more LEDs configured to emit light to illuminate a floor area beneath the thermostat. The thermostat incorporates an occupancy sensor to sense the approach of a user based on changes in conditions in proximity to the thermostat and detect an ambient light level. The thermostat includes a processing circuit configured to receive data outputs from the occupancy sensor, determine whether the data outputs indicate the approach of a user, cause the one or more LEDs to emit the light towards the floor in response to an indication that a user is approaching the thermostat based on occupancy sensor data correlated with occupancy conditions, and record and store LED activations and deactivations for later retrieval as historic data. The one or more LEDs may be configured as an illumination module removably attachable to the thermostat.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2019Date of Patent: March 15, 2022Assignee: Johnson Controls Technology CompanyInventors: Sudhi Sinha, Joseph R. Patent number: 7324973Abstract: A cashless gaming system and method of securely transferring a monetary value. When “cashing-out” of a first terminal of the system, the monetary value is encrypted with an encryption key and an encryption algorithm to produce an encrypted monetary value. A transaction code is associated with encryption key and the monetary value. The transaction code and encrypted monetary value are written to a transportable medium that is issued by the first terminal. The transaction code and associated encryption key are stored in a key repository database. The transaction code and monetary value are stored in an accounting database which is securely separate from the key repository database. The transportable medium is taken to a second terminal where the encrypted monetary value and transaction code are read. The encryption key associated with the transaction code is retrieved and used to decrypt the encrypted monetary value. The monetary value is then credited to the second terminal.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2005Date of Patent: January 29, 2008Assignee: Video Gaming Technologies, Inc.Inventor: John R Taylor, III
