Publication number: 20010018481Abstract: A hardenable texture material is disclosed for application to a patch surface surrounded by a stucco-like material having an irregular surface texture to form a layer of textured patch material on the patch surface, wherein the hardenable texture material is storable in a pressurized fluid-tight aerosol dispensing container. The hardenable texture material includes a liquid base and a stucco filler substance having large particulates resembling stucco. An aerosol system with a spray nozzle is included on the container for selective discharge of the hardenable texture material onto a prepared patch area so as to match and blend with the surrounding stucco-covered surface area in order to provide a continuous and unbroken coextensive surface texture of mechanically and visually matched material.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2001Publication date: August 30, 2001Applicant: SPRAYTEX, INC.Inventor: John R. Woods

Publication number: 20010002676Abstract: A valve assembly is disclosed for use in an aerosol spray can capable of spraying viscous materials or materials with large particulates without clogging or packing like traditional aerosol spray cans designed for spraying texture materials. The valve opening is located at the bottom of the container rather than at the top, thus allowing highly-viscous materials, such as a fire suppressant material, or materials having large particulates, such as stucco, to be sprayed from an aerosol spray can without clogging of the valves. The valve assembly can spray materials that more closely resemble the original surface texture found on textured and stucco-covered walls and ceilings of buildings and structures.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 16, 2001Publication date: June 7, 2001Applicant: Spraytex Inc.Inventor: John R. Woods

Publication number: 20010000734Abstract: A more controllable acoustic ceiling patch or textured material in the form of a sprayable composition includes a base, a filler, an adhesive binder, an anti-foaming agent, a suspension agent, and rubber particulates or polyethylene particulates forming an aggregate suitable for spraying in the presence of volatile organic compound (VOC) propellants without melting or deterioration. The more controllable acoustic ceiling patch is storable and dispensable from a pressurized dispenser having a delivery nozzle. An aerosol system with a spray nozzle is included on the container for selective discharge of the textured material onto a prepared patch area, which may be on a drywall or support panel so as to match and blend with the surrounding acoustic ceiling surface area in order to provide a continuous and unbroken coextensive surface texture of mechanically and visually matched material.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2000Publication date: May 3, 2001Applicant: SPRAYTEX, INC.Inventor: John R. Patent number: 5488560Abstract: A process control apparatus for use in a control system includes a controller (40) for coupling to a process in a closed loop of the control system and for controlling a process variable having predetermined set point and measured values. A deviation signal is generated by comparing the set point and measured values to generate a deviation signal and the controller (40) is responsive to the deviation signal to control at least one operating parameter of the process to reduce the deviation signal. An identification section (60) is provided which is responsive to the deviation signal and which provides a measured value of at least one characteristic of the closed loop response of the control system from the deviation signal by integrating the deviation signal with time.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 1993Date of Patent: January 30, 1996Assignee: West Instruments LimitedInventors: John R. Patent number: 4979191Abstract: A fault tolerant clock system in which synchronization of the clocks continuing to operate after a fault occurs is maintained within a skew limit. The clock system includes a plurality of clock channels (10), each including a clock unit (12) and an isolation port (14). A local clock signal produced by a crystal oscillator (16) is enabled to provide a clock channel output signal while a counter (24) in the clock unit accumulates a predetermined number of local clock pulses. After the predetermined number is reached, the counter disables the clock channel output signal and produces a sync pulse, which is input to a voter block (48). In response to the second sync pulse to be received from each of the clock channels, each voter block produces a load pulse signal that is input to the isolation port of that clock channel. Corresponding isolated load signals are produced by the isolation port and provided to voter blocks (72) in each of the clock units.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1989Date of Patent: December 18, 1990Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: David G.
