  • Patent number: 12181086
Abstract: A hose construction having a coupling secured to an end of a hose, with the coupling including a tubular insert formed with a polymer mixed with chopped reinforcement fiber and including first and second ends, with the first end being inserted in the hose, and the second end including a connector interface. A tubular metallic ferrule is connected to the tubular insert adjacent to the second end in order to form an annular hose receiving space between an outer surface of the insert and an inner surface of the ferrule. The end of the hose is received in the annular hose receiving space, and the ferrule is deformed inwardly against the hose to form a secure connection. The tubular insert formed of a non-metallic material has high strength and is resistant to corrosion due to contact with the materials being transported.

  • Publication number: 20220382806
Abstract: A music analysis and recommendation system (“the system”) is configured to receive and analyzing data associated with a song performed by a performer. The system also accesses a current contextual information repository to identify a current cultural paradigm and maps the current cultural paradigm to a historical contextual information repository to identify one or more historical periods that have a cultural paradigm matching the current cultural paradigm. The system then identifies one or more hit songs during the one or more historical periods and retrieves data associated with the one or more hit songs. The data associated with the song performed by the performer is compared with data associated with each of the hit songs to determine a similarity. Based upon the determined similarities, the system determines a likelihood of the song becoming a hit song and/or a likelihood of the performer becoming a hit song performer.

  • Publication number: 20100000657
Abstract: An adhesive sheet is prepared by coextruding a thermoplastic adhesive material such as a thermoplastic polyurethane and a polymeric material such as a polyolefin that forms a polymeric expendable layer. A process for making a multi-layer impact resistant glass composite made up of alternating glass and plastic layers involves interposing the adhesive sheet between the glass layer and the plastic layer, removing at least one polymeric expendable layer from the adhesive sheet, and pressing the layers together to adhere the glass layer to the plastic layer. In alternate embodiments, the adhesive sheet may be provided as a co-extruded A-B composite sheet or as an A-B-A 3-layer composite sheet.

  • Publication number: 20030178201
Abstract: A method of installing a self-supporting liner in a pipe section having an inner diameter DP. The liner includes a continuous tube of polymeric material, a braided sheath surrounding the tube, and an outer jacket surrounding the braided sheath. The liner has a relaxed outer diameter that is greater than DP. The diameter of the liner is temporarily reduced by applying a tensile load to the liner, which causes the braided sheath to radially compress the continuous tube of polymeric tubing. The liner is inserted into the pipe section while maintaining the radially-compressive force on the liner until the liner has been positioned along the desired length of the pipe section. The tensile load is then removed and the liner is maintained in the pipe section until the diameter of the pipe liner relaxes and forms an interference fit with the inner wall of the pipe section.

  • Patent number: 6378955
Abstract: An axle cover for covering a wheel axle of an automobile comprises a lock frame, seating elements, and a cover. The lock frame has at least one through hole in which the seating element is inserted and extends therefrom. The cover has at least one settling hole whose position is adapted to correspond to the through hole of the lock frame. After securing the lock frame to the wheel axle, the cover can be easily sleeved on to the wheel axle and have it blocked by settling blocks on the seating element. The seating element is further designed to be a flexible structure so that the cover can be easily sleeved on and easily moved off the wheel axle just by pushing the flexibly mounted settling blocks inside the lock frame.

  • Patent number: 5684935
Abstract: A method and system (10) for generating a plurality of images of a three-dimensional scene from a database and a specified eye point and field of view. The method includes rendering an image frame, and warping the image frame by changing the eye point and field of view. The warping process is continued on the same image frame in accordance with a predetermined criteria, such as an evaluation of the distortion between the initial image displayed and the last image displayed for this image frame. The warping process utilizes convolution to change the eye point and field of view. The database includes a traversal vector for enabling the eye point and field of view to be determined, and a plurality of voxel elements of at least two different type.

  • Patent number: 5524726
Abstract: An electrically powered cycle has a frame, an axle, a drive wheel, an electric motor, a motor controller, an electric power supply, a power supply charger, and a swing arm pivotally mounts the electric power supply and electric motor on the cycle frame. The drive wheel is rotatably supported on the axle, which, in turn, is supported in the swing arm adjacent the rear end of the cycle. This end of the swing arm is coupled to the shock absorbers which connect the frame to the axle so that the drive wheel moves relative to the frame. The other end of the swing arm is pivotally mounted on the frame. The electric power supply and the electric motor are supported on the swing arm intermediate the ends thereof.
