  • Publication number: 20170044220
Abstract: Recombinant bacterial triple-helical collagen-like proteins comprising two or more repetitive sequences of Gly-Xaa-Yaa yielding high-stability polymeric constructs without the need for post-translational modifications and which may incorporate one or more functional domains of biological or structural importance.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20160242584
Abstract: A utensil that includes a handle portion coupled with an end piece or gripping element, wherein the end piece or gripping element includes a concave gripping surface, either curved and/or V-shaped, including a plurality of serrations for gripping and immobilizing a rib or other bone with meat on it. The end piece or gripping element may be attached to or include a plurality of tines, or it may be attached to or include other features, such as a knife feature a spoon feature or a spork feature (e.g., a spoon with smaller tines).

  • Patent number: 9382310
Abstract: Recombinant bacterial triple-helical collagen-like proteins comprising two or more repetitive sequences of Gly-Xaa-Yaa yielding high-stability polymeric constructs without the need for post-translational modifications and which may incorporate one or more functional domains of biological or structural importance. The polymers are capable of high-yield production for a variety of applications.

  • Publication number: 20160147084
Abstract: Electronic viewing apparatus or systems configured to sense and locate bright light sources in the user's field of vision and selectively darken only the portions of the lenses that lie along the lines of sight between the eyes and the bright light sources identified, thereby shielding the eyes from those bright light sources.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20160145890
Abstract: A ground anchoring device includes a sharpened central shaft portion along the axis of a helical or spiral portion. The helical portion winds around the central shaft portion and the central shaft portion extends some distance beyond the lower end of the spiral portion to facilitate an initial insertion of the device into the ground. Once the central shaft portion has been pushed or driven into the ground until the lower end of the spiral contacts the ground, the anchor is then twisted to screw the spiral portion into the ground as far as desired. The twisting is facilitated by the fact that the central shaft holds the angle of insertion fixed.

  • Publication number: 20050089578
Abstract: Methods for treating diseased or damaged tissue in a subject are disclosed, involving administering to said subject at a site wherein diseased or damaged tissue occurs, cells of a type(s) normally found in healthy tissue corresponding to the diseased or damaged tissue, and/or suitable progenitor cells thereof, in association with bioresorbable beads or particles and optionally a gel and/or gel-forming substance. Where the cells and/or suitable progenitor cells thereof are chondrocytes, embryonic stem cells and/or bone marrow stromal cells, the methods of the invention are suitable for treating, for example, articular cartilage degeneration associated with primary osteoarthritis.
