  • Patent number: 9469830
Abstract: A process of mashing grain into fermentable sugar wherein two pots are used in the process. A first pot and a second pot is partially filled with water. Heat is added to the first pot. Heat is transferred to the second pot by transferring the water from the first pot to the second pot at a preestablished rate. Grain is added to the second pot which in conjunction with the water forms a wort. The wort is drained from the second pot to the first pot.

  • Publication number: 20160018018
Abstract: A valve assembly comprising a valve stem, a valve body having an internal surface and an external surface along the valve body, and a kettle bulkhead member. The valve stem can have a parabolic end that facilitates a substantially linear fluid flow and can allow for better control of the fluid flow through the valve. The valve stem can have a o-ring that seals the liquid within the valve assembly and can also act as a detent preventing the valve stem to be accidentally removed from the flow cavity.

  • Patent number: 9192883
Abstract: A combined fermentor and press assembly. The combined fermentor and press assembly includes a pot, container or bag having a preestablished volume “V” defined therein. A must and a future pomace being positioned in said preestablished volume “V”. A drain space “DS” defined within the preestablished volume “V” and a drain system, consisting of tubes and valves connected to a receptacle and a pump drawing a liquid from the must and the future pomace.

  • Patent number: 8481100
Abstract: An improved system for filtering particulate matter from a liquid in a brewing pot. The improvement includes a filter assembly positioned about a drain tube. The filter assembly has a screen member surrounded by a shield member. The shield member is positioned between the drain tube and the particulate matter separated from the liquid. The bulk of the liquid, located in a top portion of a reservoir bypasses the screen member and drains through a drain reservoir and the drain tube. After removing the shield member, the remainder of the liquid drains through the screen member or filter and into the drain reservoir preventing the particulate matter from being carried through to a fermentor.

  • Patent number: 8152115
Abstract: An improved brewing stand enables ease of assembly, repeated assembly and disassembly allowing the brewing stand to be transported from one location to another location. The modular assembly enables a plurality of tiers to be positioned in an infinite number of vertical positions between a bottom of a mast and a top of the mast. A plurality of legs are removably attached to the bottom of the mast. Leveling devices are provided to maintain the mast in a vertical position.

  • Patent number: 8146484
Abstract: A system for filtering spent grains from unfermented beer is disclosed. The system has a pot assembly having a stock pot wall, lid, drain tube and outlet valve. A louvered false bottom is positioned in the pot assembly and forms an opening between the false bottom and the stock pot wall. The louvered false bottom has a plurality of raised louvers spaced over the false bottom. Each of the louvers has a top surface, a bottom surface, a leg and a slot. The slot can be made larger or smaller according to the grain crush size.

  • Patent number: 7730912
Abstract: An improved bottle filler assembly for filling bottles from kegged carbonated or non carbonated beverages without carbonation loss or oxidation that is intuitive to use, sanitize, and keep free of bacteria. In the preferred embodiment, a long hose gradually reduces the pressure of the beverage on the way to the filler. Two tubes are placed inside each other forming an annulus where CO2 can be forced to the bottom of the bottle via a CO2 valve thereby purging the bottle of air (O2). A valve seat placed on the bottom of the tubes allows the beverage to flow into the bottle from the bottom by depressing a trigger.

  • Publication number: 20090193978
Abstract: An improved homebrewing conical fermentor having pressure capability for CO2 pumping and carbonation, without welding onto the tank, which can lead to contamination of the fermenting product. In addition, the fermentor support legs remain permanently affixed to the tank without introducing any welding flaws on the inside of the tank. A removable access hatch is provided, again without any welding onto the tank lid. A lid seal is provided with a bead that improves sealing capability against the tank lip. Lastly, a removable lid design utilizing a band clam that eliminates the need to weld the lid to the tank and allows for easy access to the interior of the fermentor for cleaning and sanitation.

  • Patent number: 5908061
Abstract: An improved woodworking fence system for shaper or router tables which safely, quickly, and accurately produces plunge cuts and other operations without the need to replace the standard original equipment fence and safety devices is provided. These original equipment fence and safety devices are mounted to a sliding plate which is constrained to move in linear motion toward or away from the cutter by a feed mechanism. Unlike prior art fences, the feed mechanism of the disclosed apparatus can be operated under power, thereby allowing plunge cut operations, zero clearance fence construction, biscuit joining and other similar operations to be performed. Feed stop collars and a precise measurement system are provided on the feed mechanism to accurately and repeatedly perform plunge cuts and many other woodworking operations.
