  • Patent number: 9879804
Abstract: Coupler devices, systems, and related methods for coupling ducts are provided. In some aspects, a duct coupling device includes a hollow body, at least one coupler seal disposed about an outer surface of the body, and a plurality of apertures extending through the body for facilitating the passage of a fluid and/or any other medium therethrough. A duct coupling system includes a duct coupling device with a sealing member, coupler transitions adapted to receive the duct coupling device, and a sealing member. The sealing member is configured to seal an annular space disposed between a first surface of the duct coupling device and a surface of one of the first and second ducts. A method of coupling ducts includes providing a first coupler transition on a first duct, providing a second coupler transition on a second duct, and providing a duct coupling device between the first and second coupler transitions.

  • Patent number: 5971669
Abstract: A retained earth structure includes an upright soil retaining wall of interlocking facing panels and a plurality of horizontal elongated wire mesh reinforcement panels extending outwardly from the back surface of the modules into the backfill material. The wire mesh panels are connected in tiers to the retaining wall while embedded in the backfill material soil behind the wall by use of a three-way adjustable, turnbuckle-type connector assembly. The three-way adjustable turnbuckle-type connector assembly ensures verticality of the finished precast wall panels.

  • Patent number: 5939003
Abstract: A post-tensioning apparatus and method including first and second body sections interconnected by an intermediate anchor head. Each body section has an end anchor head on an end opposite the intermediate anchor head and includes a tendon with a pair of strands adapted for being tensioned between the intermediate anchor head and the corresponding end anchor head of each body section. Each pair of strands is encapsulated between the intermediate anchor head and each corresponding end anchor head of each body section in a mechanically interlocked duct adapted to receive a bonding agent after tensioning of the strands. A passage is provided proximate the end anchor head of the first body section and provides a passage for insertion of bonding agent, preferably in the form of grout, into the duct of the first body section. Grout can be injected through the passage proximate the end anchor head of the first body section such that the grout can enter and fill the duct of the first body section.
