  • Patent number: 10058034
Abstract: A combine harvester is provided that separates grain material from material other than grain using multiple processing areas, including a harvesting area, a feederhouse area, a threshing area, a cleaning area, and a grain delivery area. In a location at or prior to entering one of the processing areas, the material may be collected and held until a collection threshold is reached. Once it is determined that the collection threshold is reached, the material forming a first group of material may be transported from the location to the processing area or a subsequent processing area. The first group of material is transported from the location to the processing area or the subsequent processing area substantially simultaneously and thus simulates the gathering of a large amount of crop material even when small plots are involved. In this way, reduced cycle times may be achieved, and the efficiency benefits of large-plot harvesting may be extended to small-plot applications.

  • Patent number: 9440715
Abstract: Board for traveling in ocean surf and method of fabricating same. The board includes a platform having a generally planer configuration. The platform includes a pair of relatively deep anti-slip knee wells of sufficient depth in the top surface thereof for allowing a surfer to make radical changes in board motion using his knees. According to an embodiment of the board, a channel extends along a portion of a bottom surface of the platform or optionally along the entire bottom surface of the platform for stabilizing the platform's trajectory, increasing the speed of the platform, and adding drive and direction to the platform while maneuvering in the ocean surf.

  • Patent number: 8651587
Abstract: A hydraulic brake system equipped for anti-slip control and for active brake interventions has a self-priming pump. A pressure retention valve prevents the brake system's low-pressure accumulator and the wheel brakes from being evacuated below atmospheric pressure during a sensitive brake operation. A two-position valve deactivates the bias of the pressure retention valve by opening a fluid path from the low-pressure accumulator to the pump when it is desired that the wheel brakes be retracted farther to reduce drag and excessive wear of the brake friction elements.

  • Patent number: 8417707
Abstract: A system and a method provide in memory two level of indices to a data set, respectively referred to as an instance layer and an entry layer. The instance layer is brought from disk into memory when an application is initialized to allow insertion of new data into the data set. A temporary data structure augments the instance layer and is provided to keep track of the new data. When query processing is required, the entry layer is brought in, so that query processing may be achieved using both the instance layer indices and the entry layer indices. The temporary data is merged into the instance and entry layers and the data set is updated upon termination of the application or at predetermined times, whereupon the resulting data set and index layers are written out to disk.

  • Publication number: 20130086036
Abstract: Textual information processed by an application may be used to access data from one or more on-line data source (e.g., Wikipedia) which may be used to enhance the user experience or to improve user productivity from using the application. One such application may be a search service that accesses such data based on input data provided to the application. For example, the application may parse instant messages sent and received by a user to extract keywords, phrases or links, which are then used to retrieve information from a repository of data obtained form various data sources. In this manner, data related to the subject matters of the user's communication may be readily accessed by the user, if desired, in a convenient manner To deliver real time performance, the repository of data may be pre-processed (e.g., indexed) to facilitate information retrieval.

  • Patent number: 8164762
Abstract: A method for automatically magnifying a copy job to result in a copied text that is not smaller than a user specified minimum size. An original document is automatically scanned and an analysis performed to determine, the smallest text size within the original document. A magnification for rendering the document can then be set. Media size can then be selected appropriately, and an image magnification ratio and output document size selections optimized to create a text size in the resulting rendering document which are as close as possible to a user's minimum text size selection when the user selected minimum text size cannot be achieved.
