Patent number: 11964693Abstract: A vehicle having park assist includes a plurality of powered closure doors, each door having an actuator for moving the door between closed and open positions, a plurality of sensors located on the vehicle for sensing objects relative to the vehicle and generating sensed signals indicative of the sensed objects, and a transceiver for communicating with a parked vehicle. The vehicle also includes a controller processing the sensed signals, determining a distance and location of the sensed objects relative to the doors, and determining a parking location for the vehicle in a garage where the closure doors are free from contact with an object in the garage when in an open position and are free of contact with powered closure doors on the parked vehicle. An output is provided to assist a driver of the vehicle to park the vehicle in the garage in the determined parking location.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2021Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Stuart C. Salter, Kristopher Karl Brown, John Robert Van Wiemeersch, Hussein H. Berry

Patent number: 11932200Abstract: A vehicle includes a powered door having an actuator to move the door between open and closed positions, a transceiver configured to communicate with one or more mobile devices, and an imaging device oriented to capture images in a region proximate to the powered door. A controller processes the captured images and controls the actuator to move the door to the open position when a mobile device is detected proximate the vehicle and a user is detected in the captured images located in a door detection zone. The controller moves the door to the open position when a face of a user is recognized as an authorized user located in the door detection zone. The controller moves the door to the open position when a gait of the user is detected and identifies the gait are indicative of an authorized user located in the door detection zone.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2021Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: John Robert Van Wiemeersch, Lawrence Amadi, Stuart C. Publication number: 20090135589Abstract: The present invention provides a lighting device having a light housing including a light source being rotatably connected by a rotatable connection means to a lighting device body, said body having said rotatable connection means positioned so as to allow said light housing to lay adjacent said body and to define therebetween a narrow space which is accessible in a base to top direction. The present invention also provides a light housing for a lighting device, said light housing including a light source holder at one end thereof, said light housing also including means to receive a mounting member at one end of said light housing opposite to said light source holder, said light housing being characterised by said light source holder allowing limited pivotal movement of said light source when said light source is mounted in said light source holder, said limited pivotal movement being in the range of 5° to 30°.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 27, 2009Publication date: May 28, 2009Applicant: Eveready Battery Company, Inc.Inventors: David R. Dalton, Angelo Kotsis, John Robert Brown

Patent number: 7021789Abstract: 1. A lighting device (2) having a light housing (6) including a light source (42, 44), said light housing rotatably connected to a body, said body having a rotatable connection means (22) to allow the light housing to be adjacent said body to define a narrow space (90) accessible in a base to top direction. 2. A lighting device (2) having a light source (42, 44), a tubular lens (40, 50) surrounding said light source, a reflector (56) cooperating with an end of said tubular lens opposite to said light source. 3. A light housing (6) or a method of assembling a light housing (6), said light housing having a first side and a second side, a first side having a mounting spigot (52, 54), a second side having an aperture (62, 63), a tubular lens (48, 50) can pass through the aperture so that one end of the tubular lens is received in the mounting spigot, said aperture and said mounting spigot being in alignment.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2002Date of Patent: April 4, 2006Assignee: Eveready Battery Company, Inc.Inventors: David R.
