Abstract: A clam shell plastic container includes a rectangular container body with a floor and tapered sides and an integral lid. The container body and lid are thermoformed in one piece and in an open configuration. A first hinge along the side of the container body between the container body and the lid allows the lid to rotate into a closed position on the container body. A tear strip adjacent the first hinge allows a user to separate the lid from the container body to open the container body. After separation the lid is relocked to the container body along the side opposite the first hinge and a second hinge along this opposite side is used thereafter to open the container.

Abstract: A thermoformed clamshell plastic container with an attached lid. A primary hinge along one side of the container allows opening the container for filling, and a secondary hinge along the opposite side of the container allows opening after fracturing a tear line adjacent the primary hinge.

Abstract: An all plastic container comprising the combination of injection molded pail and lid. The lid initially locks onto the container at upper and lower undercuts and seals thereto by virtue of an inverted U-shaped peripheral section. A tear line is formed in the lid skirt to facilitate removal of the lower lock. The upper lock is segmented so as to make removal of the lid easier once the lower lock is removed. Indicia on the lid shows where the gaps in the lock segments are located. The lower lock may also be segmented to provide drainage for overfill which comes out of the pail when the lid is first applied.

Abstract: A plastic paint can having a closure with a circular aperture which releasably receives an all plastic tint plug having a circular pull ring. The tint plug is made locally more deformable to provide a progressive release by means of a well of thin material formed within the recessed center deck of the tint plug adjacent the rim structure and a pair of symmetrically arranged slots opening externally of the rim structure surface.

Abstract: An all plastic paint container comprising the combination of a cylindrical pail, a separate snap-on pouring spout ring and a separate snap on lid having a tear band which must be removed before manual access to the edge of the lid for removal purposes can be realized. The mechanical attachments between the pouring ring and the pail and between the lid and the pouring ring are achieved by inverted U-shaped channels and under cuts which provide the snap on mechanical associations.

Abstract: A molded plastic container assembly comprising an open top container and a closure which sealingly fits on the top of the container. A collar is integral with the container sidewall just below the top rim to provide a space into which the lower edge of the closure skirt extends to prevent removal closure until a tear strip formed in the collar is removed. The tear strip in the collar extends fully through one corner of the container assembly and at least half way toward both of the adjacent corners to provide substantial area of access to the closure lower edge as well make the tear strip to large to present a choking hazard to small children.
