The plies are laminated together using a solid adhesive polymer layer on the surface of one or both of the plies. The solid adhesive polymer layer has a low elastic modulus that provides effective encapsulation of the TFT, and laminates the plies without high heat or pressure.

The plating covers the sidewalls of the base pattern, thus allowing the final channel length to be less than the minimum design rule used for depositing the base pattern.

    Abstract: A fluid distribution system is especially useful in agricultural apparatus for delivering liquid agricultural chemicals to agricultural fields. The system includes a flow divider with a cylindrical stator with a ring of collection chambers around the bottom of the stator and a rotor having a flow passage from the center of the top end to the bottom end above the ring of collection chambers. The flow dividers may be cascaded to provide multiple outlets. The system may include plural liquid supplies and a mixer for mixing the liquids from the plural supplies to provide a desired blend upstream of the flow divider. It is preferred that the flow of each liquid can be varied to vary the blend. The system may also include a control that varies the blend according to requirements as distribution proceeds. This may include a recorded mapping of a field being treated and a position sensor, for example a global position sensor (GPS) for monitoring the position of the apparatus in the field.

    Abstract: An improved process is disclosed for producing a unique metals-containing anisotropic pitch suitable for carbon fiber manufacture. Soluble, aromatic-organometallic compounds are added to a carbonaceous feedstock which is substantially free of mesophase pitch and the resulting composition is heat soaked to produce an isotropic pitch product containing mesogens and soluble, aromatic-organometallic compounds. Next, the pitch product is solvent fractionated to separate mesogens which contain metals from the organometallic compounds. The metals-containing mesogens are heated to a temperature sufficient to cause fusion to produce a metals-containing mesophase pitch. In another method, the carbonaceous feedstock is heat soaked to produce an isotropic pitch product containing mesogens and high molecular weight, soluble, aromatic-organometallic compounds are added to the mesogen containing isotropic pitch product prior to solvent fractionation.

    Abstract: A transportation system for liquid-carrying tanks. Each tank is mounted on a carrier unit and plural carrier units are transported by a single trailer or other vehicle. The trailer has an adjustable height, while each of the tank carrier units has adjustable height legs on its opposite sides. The units are loaded by backing the trailer under the carrier unit with the carrier unit legs extended and the trailer lowered. The trailer is then raised to lift the carrier unit to a transport position and the legs are in turn lifted to the transport position. For unloading, the reverse procedure is adopted, with the carrier unit legs being lowered to the ground and then the trailer being lowered and the trailer being pulled out from under the carrier unit. The carrier units are arranged with an angled base so that when the carrier is pulled out, the carrier unit will tilt forwardly to provide maximum drainage of the tank.
