  • Patent number: 7200468
Abstract: A computer readable medium with instructions stored on the medium. When the instructions are executed by a processor, they cause the processor to calculate overall efficiency. A system for determining the overall efficiency for a building. The system comprises: an environment system controller with a processor used to calculate overall efficiency; a plurality of indoor temperature sensors in communication with the environment system controller; an outdoor temperature sensor in communication with the environment system controller; an efficiency monitoring device in communication with the environment system controller; and a chronograph configured to time stamp sensor readings.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 5, 2005
Date of Patent: April 3, 2007
    Inventors: John Ruhnke, John Distinti

  • Publication number: 20020125335
Abstract: An air purging circulator is provided with a frustoconical reservoir, which promotes separation of dissolved and captured air form the water in a hydronic home heating system, to prevent stalling of the circulator and reduction or elimination of noise associated with air contained in the hydronic system.

  • Patent number: 6129523
Abstract: An air purging circulator is provided with a reservoir on the suction side of an impeller chamber in a circulation pump, to allow circulating water to reduce its velocity, and remove air from the lowest pressure point in the system, the suction side of the circulator, where the least amount of dissolved air is present in the circulating water, so that entrained air in the water is released, and vented from the system. The flanged inlet and outlet apertures of the pump housing are axially aligned, and preferably are located at one end of the pump housing opposite from the motor, to allow convenient installation in retrofit of existing systems. Separation media, such as marbles, wire mesh, or crumpled wire, to further slow the water flow and enhance separation of the air from the water, can be provided in the reservoir.
