  • Patent number: 10572215
Abstract: An extendable augmented reality (AR) system for recognizing objects. The AR system may incorporate plugins to improve the AR system's ability to recognize objects, such as by adding external matchable data or using external recognition algorithms. The plugins may be installed/activated dynamically by a user to expand the system's AR capabilities. The AR system may also incorporate plugins to improve the AR system's post-recognition features such as supplying a user with supplemental content or follow-up functionality. The AR system may filter communications with the plugins to centralize identification processes, to shield plugins, and to ensure plugins are only activated at appropriate times.

  • Publication number: 20200054310
Abstract: A mechanical interface for a robotic medical instrument permits engagement of the instrument and a drive system without causing movement of an actuated portion of the instrument. An instrument interface can include a symmetrical, tapered or cylinthical projection on one of a medical instrument or a drive system and a complementary bore in the other of the drive system or the medical instrument. Symmetry of the projection and the bore allows the projection to be compression fit to the bore regardless of the rotation angle of the drive system relative to the medical instrument.

  • Patent number: 10532956
Abstract: This invention relates to polymeric compositions for application onto natural stone in order to provide for long-term chemical, stain, and water resistance, along with antimicrobial properties. Many natural, unsealed stones do not have stain, etch, or water resistance. The described compositions were developed using a technology of chemical grafting that involves the use of prepolymers, monomers, catalysts, graft initiators, wetting agents, antimicrobial agents, and other ingredients. The composition, when thus applied to the stone surface allows it to obtain a graft polymerization, thereby forming a polymer film that is chemically attached to the natural stone, rather than typical physical bonding of other sealer compositions. The natural stones react with a graft initiator in the composition, which creates the reaction sites on the natural stone surface via free radical mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 10499774
Abstract: A liquid dispenser for dispensing a liquid such as a hand sanitizer uses a receptacle that is dimensioned to properly fit within a typical vehicle cup holder. A receptacle cap is attached to the top of the receptacle. A pumping system passes through the receptacle cap so as to have a dip tube disposed within the receptacle and an actuator located above the receptacle cap. Actuation of the actuator draws liquid from the receptacle and dispenses the liquid onto a user's hand through a discharge portion of the actuator. Spilled liquid is captured within a collection pool defined on a upper surface of the receptacle cap. An protective dome cap is attached to an upper portion of the receptacle cap, has an opening therein for access to the discharge port, and can be pressed downwardly to actuate the pumping system.

  • Publication number: 20190306267
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for a reverse proxy server are provided. The reverse proxy server may provide compatibility and security for nodes on an IoT network. A reverse proxy server may normalize inter-node communications. A reverse proxy server may identify an IoT node and upon identification of the node, determine native communication protocol(s) specific to the node. The reverse proxy server may encapsulate data transmitted via the native communication protocol. The reverse proxy server may impose a master-slave relationship. For example, the reverse proxy server may be a master of one or more nodes (slaves) on the IoT. The reverse proxy server may enforce security protocols on all slaves. A slave (e.g., node) may be required to route all communications to other IoT devices through the master (e.g., reverse proxy server). An IoT network may include more than one reverse proxy server. Each slave may have one or more masters.
