  • Patent number: 5150759
Abstract: An improved capacitor-sensor formed between two rigid, closely-spaced and facing, first and second plates, each with a facing and nonfacing surface and with specific facing electrode patterns on the plates forming a plurality of capacitors sensitive to displacement between the plates, which will eliminate asymmetrical overlap patterns and horizontal motion sensitivity. The first and second plate electrode patterns each have three, equispaced, identical, circular conductive regions on their facing surfaces. The diameters of the first plate circular conductive regions are less than the diameters of the circular conductive regions of the second plate. Electrical leads and interconnections are so arranged that overlap between leads and interconnections on opposing plates is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4874051
Abstract: A leaf spring made of a flat, thin, metallic strip comprised of an elongated flexible member with two parallel sides terminating at either end into flat rectangular, cross-like or circular shapes with a width approximately twice the width of the strip at its midpoint. The ends are crimped or cold pressed downward and then outward near their edges to form flanges. The crimped or pressed ends become each foot of the leaf spring.

  • Patent number: 4862979
Abstract: A hinged dust cover used in combination with an electronic balance whereby the cover converts to an air screen during weighing operations. In the fully closed position the cover protects the weighing pan and various controls and displays from the ingress of dust and other contaminants as well as inadvertent operation. In the fully open position full access by the balance's operator is available to the weighing pan and controls. In the cover's intermediate position, the cover forms an enclosure about the weighing pan thereby isolating the weighing pan and mass being weighed from dust and air movement while at the same time making the various controls fully available to the balance's operator.

  • Patent number: 4828057
Abstract: A leaf spring made of a flat, thin, metallic strip comprised of an elongated flexible member with two parallel sides terminating at either end into flat rectangular, corss-like or circular shapes with a width approximately twice the width of the strip at its midpoint. The ends are crimped or cold pressed downward and then outward near their edges to form flanges. The crimped or pressed ends become each foot of the leaf spring.

  • Patent number: 4738324
Abstract: A weighing system for measuring gems and other very light masses with means for correcting errors in the measured value of said masses due to off-center placement on the system's holding pan. The system uses three or more transducers about the pan to measure the weight of the mass, and contains means for correlating the various transducer sensed values for a given mass at given locations to arrive at a true weight value for the mass in spite of its location on the system's holding pan.
