  • Patent number: 3985347
Abstract: An ice cream machine includes a dasher positioned in a receptacle to stir the ingredients. A fixed, non-rotatable post is also positioned in the receptacle in cooperating relationship within the dasher. The dasher is spaced from the wall and bottom of the receptacle and is of a novel configuration. The dasher is rotated at a low speed by a power unit contained entirely within the machine. Ice cream is made using the machine within the freezer compartment of a refrigerator.

  • Patent number: 3961551
Abstract: Disclosed is a hand-operated device for slitting fabric drawn therethrough into strips. The device has a V-shaped bracket which is secured over the edge of a table top by a wedge, without using any tools. Fabric is drawn by hand from the edge toward the interior of the table top between a row of blades extending upwardly from the device and a guard bar disposed over the blades. The device can be disassembled, without using any tools, to reposition the blades so as to cut strips of different widths or to replace blades. Except for the blades, the device is entirely formed of an inexpensive plastic material formed by a process such as molding.

  • Patent number: 3960307
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for attaching an ornament by a pronged setting to sheet material, which includes a base having an anvil in the form of a turret on which the sheet material is placed and a pivotally connected head which receives the setting. A plunger on the head registers with the anvil when the head is pivoted relative to and toward the base. The plunger comprises a sleeve and a punch reciprocable axially within the sleeve. The sleeve contacts the sheet material and holds it in engagement with the anvil, and the punch moves axially within the sleeve to force the prongs of the setting into and through the sheet material and to deform the prongs so as to fasten the ornament to the material. A spring is disposed between the sleeve and the plunger to permit relative axial movement therebetween and to bias them apart after the ornament has been affixed.

  • Patent number: 3942272
Abstract: Disclosed is a modular, collapsible and adjustable rectangular frame for stretching sheet material which is particularly adapted for use in hobby activities such as rug-tufting. The basic frame comprises four identical side bars and four identical legs. Each of the side bars and legs is integrally molded of a substantially homogeneous material such as a thermoplastic material. Additionally, there are extension bars each of which is also integrally molded of a substantially homogeneous material. Each of the side and extension bars has a connecting insert extending away from the bar at one end thereof and a corresponding connecting tunnel extending into the other end. The frame is assembled by frictionally fitting the connecting insert of one bar into the connecting tunnel of another bar to form a rectangle and by frictionally fitting each leg into a corresponding leg tunnel of each side of the rectangle. The size and shape of the frame is changed by adding or subtracting extension bars.
