Abstract: A dispensing package includes a bottle, made of a blow-moldable plastic and having a neck finish, a pouring spout and a closure. An undercut groove in the interior of the neck finish holds a bead on the spout. The spout may have a pour-back design. Threading the closure onto the neck finish engages a top surface of the neck finish just above the groove with a closure-mounted seal. The groove may result from molding the neck finish against a pin which is withdrawn from the neck finish while the plastic is still warm but has enough plastic memory to result in groove definition following pin removal. The bead of the spout may be press-fitted into the groove while the plastic is warm so that cooling-caused shrinkage firmly locks the spout in place.

Abstract: A five or six gallon blow molded plastic water bottle has a regular hexagonal cross-section. The bottle is preferably made of polycarbonate and has a wall thickness of between 0.040 and 0.060 inch. An integral protrusion is formed on one face of the bottle and a depression is formed in a second diametrically opposite face of the bottle. Adjacent bottles may be stacked by inserting the protrusion of one bottle into the depression of an adjacent bottle. With the protrusion and depression of adjacent bottles engaged, the adjacent faces of each bottle contact each other so that the weight of the upper bottle which is borne by the lower bottle is distributed across the face. When the protrusion and depression of adjacent bottles are engaged, the top surface of the protrusion does not engage the bottom surface of the depression, so that indica labels or the like attached to the depression are not defaced or damaged.

Abstract: A funnel of generally U-shaped cross section is provided for use with a container to form an integrated funnel/container package wherein the funnel is designed to fit inside the opening of the container. The funnel and container may be provided with mating fastening means and the funnel may have funnel alignment means for alignment of the funnel on the container.

Abstract: A base for a container is disclosed which prevents the collection of liquids in the base when the container is stored or washed in an upside down position. The preferred embodiment disclosed consists of a central section having a series of radially extending crests and troughs connected by surfaces inclined toward the troughs and a raised rim surrounding the central section which has a series of depreseions corresponding to the outer ends of the troughs.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a liquid container, the lower lateral portion of which has five principal sides arranged to permit five such containers to be carried in a square sided carrying case.
