  • Publication number: 20240285749
Abstract: Vaccines that elicit broadly protective anti-influenza antibodies. Some vaccines comprise nanoparticles that display HA trimers from influenza virus on their surface. The nanoparticles are fusion proteins comprising a monomeric subunit (e.g., ferritin) joined to the stem region of an influenza HA protein. The fusion proteins self-assemble to form the HA-displaying nanoparticles. The vaccines comprise only the stem region of an influenza HA protein joined to a trimerization domain. Also provided are fusion proteins, and nucleic acid molecules encoding such proteins, and assays using nanoparticles of the invention to detect anti-influenza antibodies.

  • Patent number: 12003911
Abstract: A first earbud configured to communicate with a user media device and a second earbud. The first earbud includes a battery, a battery monitor configured to determine a power level of the battery, a mode controller. The mode controller is configured to receive a first power level value from the battery monitor and a second power level value from the second earbud and make a determination that the first earbud is operating in a primary mode in which the first earbud receives audio data from the user media device and transmits the received audio data to the second earbud. The mode controller is further configured, in response to the determination that the first earbud is operating in the primary mode, switch the first earbud from the primary mode to a secondary mode based on at least one of the first power level and the second power level.

  • Patent number: 11877113
Abstract: A microphone device generates a transmit audio stream via at least one microphone on the microphone device. The microphone device transmits the transmit audio stream to the computing device via a first wireless connection and ignores a receive audio stream received from the computing device via the first wireless connection. The speaker device obtains a set of connection parameters for the first wireless connection between the microphone device and the computing device, intercepts the receive audio stream transmitted using the first wireless connection from the computing device to the microphone device, and plays the receive audio stream on a speaker of the speaker device.

  • Patent number: 11044546
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for earphones are disclosed. In one example, an earphone includes a speaker arranged to output an audible sound to an earphone user ear. The earphone includes an earphone housing having a first earphone housing opening arranged to output the audible sound into an ear canal of the earphone user. The earphone housing further includes a second earphone housing opening arranged to port to an ambient air ear exterior when the earphone is inserted into the earphone user ear. The earphone includes a valve positioned between the first earphone housing opening and the second earphone housing opening. The valve is operated in an open position during a telephony mode to provide an acoustic leakage pathway between the first earphone housing opening and the second earphone housing opening. The valve is operated in a closed position during a media mode to close the acoustic leakage pathway.

  • Patent number: 9980028
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for user sound exposure limiting are disclosed. In one example, an accumulated sound dose exposure from a headset speaker is determined for a plurality of sequentially monitored time intervals during a current listening session, wherein the current listening session comprises a total session time. It is determined whether a predicted sound dose exposure for the total session time exceeds or falls below a permitted sound dose exposure limit, the predicted sound dose exposure determined from the accumulated sound dose exposure. A threshold intervention level at which a time-weighted-average limiter at a headset applies attenuation to an audio signal output at a headset speaker is adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20150348530
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for addressing open space noise are disclosed using both dynamic and static sound masking. In one example, an adaptive sound masking system and method portions undesired sound into time-blocks and estimates frequency spectrum and power level, and continuously generates masking noise with a matching or predetermined spectrum and loudness or power level to mask the undesired sound. In another example, a static sound masking system and method portions undesired sound into time-blocks and estimates frequency spectrum and power level, and generates a static noise-masking signal with a matching spectrum and power level to mask the undesired sound.
