  • Patent number: 7464004
Abstract: In a support service for computing devices or software (or other service), a determination is made based on an incident report that additional data is needed. A first template is chosen from a set of templates and that chosen first template is customized for the particular incident to create a data collection plan. The data collection plan includes a set of data collection items. The data collection plan is forwarded to a user client device associated with the incident report. At the user client device, a user can choose to proceed with all or a subset of the data collection items. Data is then collected for the selected data collection items. The user is then provided with the opportunity to select which of the collected data to upload back to the support service. The collected data is then uploaded, and the incident status is updated and made available.

  • Patent number: 5863186
Abstract: A method of compressing a compressible fluid, using a hydraulically driven compressor comprising a precompressor, a first cylinder, and a second cylinder. The precompressor receives a low pressure input of compressible fluid and fills the first cylinder to a precompressor output target pressure. A piston within the first cylinder then forces the compressible fluid into the second cylinder. This cycle is repeated until the second cylinder is filled to a first-cylinder output target pressure, whereupon a piston within the second cylinder forces the compressible fluid out of the second cylinder as a high pressure compressible fluid output, typically into some sort of storage vessel. This cycle is repeated until the compressible fluid output pressure reaches a second-cylinder output target pressure.

  • Patent number: 4602990
Abstract: In an electrolytic cell for the production of aluminum from alumina, having an anode-to-cathode gap of from 1 to 5 cm, the flow of electrolyte through the interelectrode gap is induced by positioning the cathode at an inclination of from about 2 to about 15 degrees from the horizontal, and operating at an anode current density of from about 0.5 to about 3.0 A/cm.sup.2. The cathode surface is a Refractory Hard Material which is wetted by aluminum.

  • Patent number: 4083925
Abstract: Sufficient anionic polyacrylamide having molecular weight of at least 2,800,000 is contacted with alkali metal aluminate liquor containing ferrous iron until a substantial proportion of the ferrous iron is precipitated, and said precipitate and liquor are separated. The process is particularly useful as an improvement in the Bayer process for preparing alumina from bauxite.
