  • Publication number: 20110146801
Abstract: A method for introducing additives into a closed system though a high pressure side service port is disclosed. In a first example, a method of introducing an additive into a closed system is disclosed comprising the steps of connecting a fluid flow path with the high pressure side service port of a closed system and transporting the additive from a fluid reservoir through the fluid flow path into the high pressure side service port of the system. The method may further comprise purging the closed system prior to introducing the additive into the system.

  • Patent number: 7604466
Abstract: An improved muffler system for a compressor assembly where the muffler is disposed within the compressor housing and a peripheral edge of the muffler abuts, and expansively engages, the interior surface of the housing in an interference fit relationship. The compressor pump is attached to the muffler where the pump is substantially thermally and vibrationally isolated from the housing. The muffler, the compressor pump and the compressor housing define a series of chambers in which noise generated by the compressor pump is dissipated. The dimensions of the chambers are chosen to cause acoustical waves having specific, undesirable frequencies to cancel each other out.

  • Patent number: 6537045
Abstract: A rotating type machine including a first moving member having a first surface and a second member having a second surface slidably interfacing with the first surface. The first and second surfaces have relative movement therebetween, and one of the first and second members is supported by the other member through the interface of their respective first and second surfaces. At least one of the first and second surfaces is provided with at least one recess therein. A liquid lubricant is provided between the first and second surfaces, and the lubricant is received in the recess. Relative to the surface in which the recess is provided, the recess has a maximum depth which ranges between about 0.00125 and 0.0060 inches, and a surface area which ranges between about 1.767×10−4 and 1.
