Patent number: 8254350Abstract: A system for routing packets in an ad hoc wireless network. In response to entering the ad hoc wireless network, location data is broadcast to other nodes within the ad hoc wireless network. Location data is received from the other nodes within the ad hoc wireless network. The received location data is recorded in a routing table. In response to determining that one or more packets need to be transmitted, a best route is calculated to transmit the one or more packets within the ad hoc wireless network using data in the routing table. Then, the one or more packets are transmitted to a node within the ad hoc wireless network based on the calculated best route.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2007Date of Patent: August 28, 2012Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Oliver Keren Ban, Timothy Alan Dietz, John S.
