Patent number: 11930267Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with control circuitry, wireless transceiver circuitry, and a display. The electronic device may be used to provide information to a user in response to being pointed at a particular object. The control circuitry may determine when the electronic device is pointed at a particular object using wireless control circuitry and/or motion sensor circuitry. In response to determining that the electronic device is pointed at a particular object, the control circuitry may take suitable action. This may include, for example, displaying information about an object when the electronic device is pointed at the object, displaying control icons for electronic equipment when the electronic device is pointed at the electronic equipment, and/or displaying a virtual object when the electronic device is pointed at real world object.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2021Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Adam S. Patent number: 11181279Abstract: A one-piece sheet-metal structure includes a first wall, a second wall perpendicularly extending from the first wall, and a third wall perpendicularly extending from the first wall. The second wall is perpendicular to the first wall and the third wall. An end edge of the second wall is adjacent an end edge of the third wall to form a corner. The corner is provided with a clench lock so that the corner is weld-free. The clench lock includes bottom and top tabs. The bottom tab perpendicularly extends from the end edge of the second wall at a bottom tab bend and engages an inner side of the third wall. The top tab perpendicularly extends from an outer edge of the third wall at a top tab bend and bends around the bottom tab and engages an inner side of the bottom tab to clench the bottom tab at the corner.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2018Date of Patent: November 23, 2021Assignee: Pennant Moldings, Inc.Inventors: Keith Sanfrey, John S. Patent number: 6964339Abstract: A shock absorbing container assembly for packaging articles, including an outer container, a sheet member, and an article container. In the closed configuration, the outer container includes an inner top surface and an opposed inner bottom surface that are substantially fixedly spaced apart in a vertical axis. The sheet member has a bottom surface and at least one preformed foldable portion that is folded away from the bottom surface terminating at a free distal edge. The free distal edge bears against the top surface of the outer container when receiving vertically directed forces transmitted by the top surface. The article container for receiving articles is disposed inside the outer container and includes a plurality of intersecting walls. Vertically directed forces transmitted by the sheet member are received by at least two of the walls that have upper ends bearing against the bottom surface of the sheet member and lower ends bearing against the bottom surface of the outer container.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2002Date of Patent: November 15, 2005Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventor: John S. Patent number: 6669082Abstract: A compression supporting package divider set. Within the scope of the invention, there is a divider having an upper edge and a spaced-apart lower edge, the upper and lower edges being connected by a side edge forming an end of the divider. A cut line extends from one of the upper and lower edges to an interior point of the divider spaced from the upper and lower edges and from the side edge. A fold line for folding the divider defines an axis of rotation intersecting the upper and lower edges and terminates at the interior point. The fold line is provided such that a first side flange portion of the divider defined between the cut line and the axis of rotation rotates about the axis together with a second side flange portion of the divider defined between the fold line and the side edge, thereby causing the first and second side flange portions to extend on opposite sides of the divider.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2002Date of Patent: December 30, 2003Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventor: John S. Patent number: 6565048Abstract: The present invention provides cable support brackets particularly useful for category 5 cable, high performance communications cables, fiber optic cable, and the like. The cable support bracket is hook-like shaped body and includes an elongate stem portion, an elongate laterally extending portion extending generally perpendicularly from one end of the stem portion; and an elongate up-turned end portion extending perpendicularly from one end of the laterally extending portion, generally parallel to the stem portion. The stem portion, the laterally extending portion, and the end portion define a cable support saddle for accommodating cables thereacross with the laterally extending portion including a convex cable support surface that maintains a gradual bend radius for the cables extending thereacross.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 2000Date of Patent: May 20, 2003Assignee: Thomas & Betts International, Inc.Inventor: John S.
