    Abstract: An annotation system for automatically recording additional image information on an image bearing member such as a photoconductive member in an electrostatographic printing machine. The annotation system includes an occluding device assembly having an occluder bar for masking the image bearing member in a predetermined region to allow for the additional image information to be recorded thereon and a drive apparatus for selectively positioning the occluder bar with respect to an image area on the image bearing member, wherein a system is provided for releasably mounting the occluder bar to the drive apparatus. The system also includes a light emitting source for producing a light image of the additional image information on the masked region of the image bearing member.
