  • Patent number: 5636653
Abstract: An apparatus and method for metering fluid flow is disclosed. A fluid dispensing unit is coupled between a supply pipe and a demand pipe, and dispenses fluid received from the supply pipe to the demand pipe. The demand pipe is coupled to one or more fluid-expending appliances. The pressure of the fluid in the demand pipe is monitored by a fluid information unit. The fluid information unit and fluid dispensing unit cooperate to maintain the fluid flowing through the demand pipe at a substantially constant demand fluid pressure by monitoring fluid flowing through the demand pipe and actively dispensing fluid received from the supply pipe into the demand pipe to maintain the demand fluid pressure at a pre-established demand pressure level. The fluid information unit and fluid dispensing unit also cooperate to meter or measure the volume of fluid dispensed through the fluid dispensing unit.

  • Patent number: 4404974
Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring and digitally displaying primate heart rate and systolic blood pressure product information. The apparatus has a microprocessor programmed to respond to signals relating to heart rate and systolic blood pressure and provide a digital output of the current product information and a two minute average of the product information. Separate LED displays are used to present the current and two minute average product information. An audible alarm operates to alert the personnel caring for the patient in the event that the pulse rate and blood pressure product exceeds a selected level. Operator controls are operable to read the input values, silence the alarm, read the external preset trip point, read the internal power supply and reference voltages, and verify the operations of all segments of all digits.

  • Patent number: 4366741
Abstract: An electronic piano has a keyboard and an electronic piano circuit connected to a micro-processor used to control a CRT device to provide a video note display concurrently with the depression of one or more keys. A keyboard representation located adjacent the screen of the CRT device is associated with lights used to indicate the key or keys that are played. Manually operated controls cooperate with the micro-processor to allow the back clearing of the screen one note at a time, remove all the notes, retain all the notes, indicate sharp or flat mode of each note, and indicate the duration that a key is depressed by elongating the note on the screen. A metronome unit is used with the micro-processor to provide a visual beat marker on the screen that sequentially moves across the screen. A movable frame connects the CRT device to the piano.
