  • Publication number: 20180230563
Abstract: Components and methods for forming components utilizing ultra-high strength steel are provided. A first method includes the steps of providing a blank of ultra-high strength steel, cold forming the blank into an unfinished component, and applying a coating to the outer surface of the unfinished component that is adapted to inhibit the formation of a ferrite soft layer on the component during heating thereof. A second method includes the steps of providing a blank of heavy gauge thickness ultra-high strength steel, cold forming the blank into a finished component, heating the finished component and quenching the component without the use of tooling.

  • Patent number: 9074646
Abstract: A clutch assembly includes an inner race, an outer race and a plurality of roller elements positioned radially therebetween. The clutch assembly also includes a cage assembly, a seal and a retaining ring. The cage assembly includes a skeleton coupled to a spring ring having a plurality of radially extending guides arranged to circumferentially space apart each roller element in alignment with cam surfaces formed on the outer race. The guides are resiliently deformable to allow concurrent engagement of each roller element with both the inner and outer races. The seal engages an inner surface of the outer race and an outer surface of the inner race, and is positioned axially outboard of the roller elements. The retaining ring is positioned within ring grooves formed on each of the inner and outer races to restrict movement of the cage.

  • Patent number: 8925202
Abstract: A novel method of manufacturing a toothed disc is taught wherein the teeth can be cold formed to a relatively high set of tolerances in a relatively time-efficient manner. A cold-formed disc blank with an annular thickened ring about its periphery is forced through a set of tooth forming rollers which engage the annular thickened ring. As the blank is forced through the set of rollers, the rollers cold forming tooth structures in the annular ring. In some circumstances, the tooth structure can be a final desired tooth profile and in other circumstances, the disc blank may be forced through two or more different sets of tooth forming rollers, each set of tooth forming rollers contributing to the forming of the final, desired tooth profile.

  • Publication number: 20030009118
Abstract: A hand held massaging devise that allows people to personally massage themselves in hard to reach areas of the back specifically from the neck, around the spine, and all the way down the back including the buttocks. A flexible elastic strap is folded in half, and permanently attached to a piece of durable nylon material that attaches to a solid rubber ball with multiple protrusions radiating outward. The connection between the material and the rubber ball is attached in such a way as to allow the ball to rotate freely in circular, side to side, or up and down motion. The user comfortably holds the elastic strap while leaning back against a wall or flat surface positioning the ball on the part of the back being massaged, applying the desired pressure. The user may also freely massage his or her foot by holding the elastic strap, positioning the ball between the foot and the floor, and moving the foot back and forth while applying pressure.
