  • Publication number: 20130063259
Abstract: A wireless radio frequency switch controller that requires no batteries is disclosed, as is a method for interacting between the wireless radio frequency switch controller and a Bluetooth device. The wireless radio frequency switch controller taps into the existing garage door control wiring and uses capacitors to retain power (voltage and current), which is a form of energy harvesting. The Bluetooth device interaction causes a digital controlled switch such as a transistor, solid state switch, or electrochemical relay, which operates the desired garage door motor thereby opening and closing the garage door. Additionally, the wireless radio frequency switch controller may operate in conjunction with different parent systems such as thermostats, doorbells, security systems, or the like.

  • Publication number: 20080147240
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for separating at least two discrete volumes of a composite liquid into at least two components. Independent microprocessors are provided on a rotor of a centrifugal separation apparatus, which respond to commands from a control computer, gather sensor data and independently control devices on the rotor to process one or more volumes of a composite liquid such as blood. Multiple microprocessors communicate with the control computer across a single communication channel, such as a pair of slip rings or an infrared communications link.

  • Publication number: 20070188516
Abstract: A method and system for efficiently converting an image from a first map projection to a second map projection image. The method includes precomputing coordinates in the first map projection for a subset of the total number of pixels in an empty second map projection image and subsequently, finding the first map projection coordinates of each of the remaining pixels by linear interpolation using the precomputed first map projection coordinates of the nearest surrounding precomputed pixels. A color is assigned to the second map projection image pixel with bilinear interpolation using color values of surrounding first map projection pixels. If the first map projection has fiducials, only the area within the fiducials is considered. An embodiment converts a USGS DOQ in UTM format into Geodetic coordinates.
