  • Publication number: 20150350220
Abstract: One or more user accounts can be linked together to form a group of linked user accounts. A designated primary user account in the group of linked user accounts can be enabled to modify control settings for the subordinate user accounts in the group of linked user account. The control settings can dictate restrictions on the subordinate user accounts. For example, the control settings can define restrictions on the type of content that can be accessed, purchases that can be made, storage space allocated to the subordinate user account, etc. In some embodiments, the primary user account can be enabled to establish a set of control settings for a client device associated with the group of linked user accounts. The set of control settings can dictate restriction on content accessed by the client device and usage of the client device such as restrictions on phone calls, messages, data usage, etc.

  • Publication number: 20150264728
Abstract: An MR code is generated within a browser on a client device and is read by a mobile application on a mobile device. A communication channel is then established through a web-based service, between the browser and the mobile application on the mobile device. The mobile application generates a user interface display on the mobile device that allows user selection of content. The mobile application sends a link to that content to the browser, which accesses and renders the content on the client device. User input commands to control the rendered content are also received at the mobile device and sent to the browser through the communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20150208158
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for automatically controlling the operation of a media device based upon whether a portable presentation device coupled to the media device is currently being worn by a user. A portable presentation device may be any device that is meant to be worn by a user that is capable of presenting media content to the user (e.g. earphones, headphones, goggles or faceplates with video/audio capability, etc.). With this mechanism, a user can affect the operation of the media device by simply putting on or taking off the portable presentation device. The user does not need to manually manipulate the controls of the media device. By automatically controlling the operation of the media device in this manner, use of the media device and the portable presentation device as a unit is made much simpler and more convenient.

  • Publication number: 20140380531
Abstract: A method for testing an integrated circuit (IC) using a nanoprobe, by using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) to register the nanoprobe to an identified feature on the IC; navigating the nanoprobe to a region of interest; scanning the nanoprobe over the surface of the IC while reading data from the nanoprobe; when the data from the nanoprobe indicates that the nanoprobe traverse a feature of interest, decelerating the scanning speed of the nanoprobe and performing testing of the IC. The scanning can be done at a prescribed nanoprobe tip force, and during the step of decelerating the scanning speed, the method further includes increasing the nanoprobe tip force.

  • Patent number: 8875202
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method receives packets including video data that was encoded or decoded. The packets are dynamically routed through processing elements in different routes and some of the packets include signatures from processing elements that processed each respective packet. The method then determines a plurality of captures each including a set of packets and determines for each capture, a set of processing elements that processed the set of packets. The set of processing units inserted respective signatures into a user data section of the packets that is defined by a standard used to encode or decode the video data. The determined set of processing elements are analyzed for each capture to determine a processing element in the set of processing elements that is considered to be causing a performance degradation. Then, the method performs a remedial action associated with the processing element.

  • Publication number: 20140281870
Abstract: Users may collaborate on a document and be notified of changes (e.g. comments, changes) made to the document using different notification methods. A comment may be added to the document from within the document and/or externally from the document. A comment may also be added to a comment stream (e.g. a thread of related comments). The different notification mechanisms may include mechanisms such as: Short Message Service (SMS), Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), electronic mail, phone call, Instant Messaging (IM), social network post/message, toast message, live tile, and the like. A user may configure the desired notification methods. A newsfeed may display a feed of collaboration items that reflect comments/changes to the document. The user may select a displayed collaboration item from the newsfeed to access the document. A user may also respond (e.g. comment) to a notification that may be added as a comment in the document.

  • Publication number: 20140075324
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to automatic generation of dynamically changing layouts for a graphical user-interface. Specifically, embodiments of the present disclosure employ analysis of an image associated with the view (e.g., either the current view or a future view) of the graphical user-interface to determine colors that are complementary to the image. The colors are applied to the view, such that the color scheme of the view matches the image.
