    Abstract: The invention provides a novel composition and method for reducing “bad” cholesterol and increasing “good” cholesterol. The composition of the invention comprises a food product having sugar cane juice. The sugar can juice preferably contains policosanols. A method of preventing or treating cardiovascular disease comprising administering a composition comprising sugar cane juice is also provided.
