  • Patent number: 8803680
Abstract: A tire pressure monitoring apparatus (10) includes a pressure transducer (14) and a valve stem (12). A support bracket (50) connects the valve stem (12) to the pressure transducer (14) and facilitates pivotal movement between the valve stem and the pressure transducer. The support bracket (50) includes a valve stem biasing member (80) that exerts a spring bias on the valve stem (12) to help maintain a selected angular position of the valve stem relative to the pressure transducer (14).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 21, 2007
Date of Patent: August 12, 2014
Assignees: TRW Automotive U.S. LLC, Michelin Recherche et Technique S.A.
    Inventors: Mike Blossfeld, John Scales
  • Patent number: 7454965
Abstract: A tire pressure mounting apparatus is provided including a pressure sensor for sensing the pressure in a tire. The pressure sensor has a housing. A threaded fastener is secured to the housing and forms a first valve portion. A tire valve stem projects through a first opening in a rim for holding the tire. The tire valve stem carries a second valve portion therein. The first valve portion and the second valve portion form a valve when screwed together.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 15, 2006
Date of Patent: November 25, 2008
Assignees: TRW Automotive U.S. LLC, Societe de Technologie Michelin
Inventors: Mike Blossfeld, David L. Juzswik, John Scales

  • Publication number: 20060127752
Abstract: An apparatus (10) includes a battery (12) that has a positive terminal (50) and a negative terminal (52). At least one layer of electrical insulating material (60) is disposed on one of the positive terminal (50) and the negative terminal (52). At least one electrically conductive circuit layer (62) is disposed on the at least one layer of electrical insulating material (60).

  • Publication number: 20060121993
Abstract: A system and method for aligning video images with an underlying visual field are provided. A video camera is coupled with a heads up display, and a computer positions images from the video camera on the heads up display based on the relative orientations of the camera and the display. As the video camera moves with respect to the display, the images are repositioned within the heads up display. The video image, which may, for example, come from a weapon sight, is aligned within the heads up display so that an observer can easily view the camera image without having to shift focus from the larger scene.

  • Patent number: 5788420
Abstract: An earth retaining wall having at least a pair of tiers of side-by-side blocks which define a receiving channel for a connector bar with spaced-apart keys that engage apertures in a lattice-like grid extending laterally from the tiers, the grid being covered by backfill for interlocking the backfill with the retaining wall, the keys distributing the load of the backfill evenly across the wall.
